Hmmmm ive never heard of salmon chowder before, also fantastic intro lol
ОтветитьLived in the Seattle area for most of my life and never even heard of salmon chowder. I must’ve been doing it wrong.
ОтветитьMight make the clam and corn
ОтветитьThe choking on the dry half of an oyster cracker is so damn real tho. Haven't had one in probably 15 years, but I could feel in in my throat lol. It's different than choking on a dry saltine.
ОтветитьOhhh thats chowder then i have had chowders before and im a not a fan lol. But also im just not a fan of soups in general. I use to refuse eating soup but as i get older now i tolerate it but never will i crave or want to eat it 😅
ОтветитьPLS DO A CHRISTMAS COOKIE EPISODE!!! 🥺🥺🥺
ОтветитьSurprised you didn't use a hot smoked salmon for the salmon chowder. I'm from Alaska and I've never made salmon chowder with fresh! The smoky flavor of the salmon gives it a more interesting taste!
ОтветитьI never did understand recipies that use potato and are thickened having the instruction to boil the potatoes seperate. That wastes the starch in a potato.
ОтветитьIdea for the future: you could rate the recipes (e.g. 0-10) in categories like texture, flavor and workload and final score. That way someone who would be interested to try the recipes in the video could choose based on their preferences
ОтветитьI had no idea that salmon chowder was a thing until I went to Finland on a trip and our guide made it for us. It was incredible
Ответитьit hurts my soul when people remove the salmon skin like that before cooking. use the skin, take it off later if you must
ОтветитьYou ate Claire's Clam? Does she know about this? Her spouse? XD
On a more serious note, new england clam chowder goes best with tabasco chipotle hot sauce. The amount of acid in the tabasco-brand sauces really works well against the heaviness of the chowder, and the smoked chipotle notes are a great compliment to the brininess of the clams.
Cooks Country has a corn chowder that uses blended canned corn as the thickener but features whole kernel corn cut off the cobs for texture. It's a family favorite of ours!
ОтветитьHey David! Any recommendations on how to make the Mexican Street Corn Soup vegetarian? Or at least without bacon? Thanks so much!
ОтветитьWatching this as I’m eating chowder
Ответитьfrozen corn >>>> canned corn for...well, everything. You can roast it on a sheet pan to deepen the flavor significantly for chowder
ОтветитьI’m from Hawaii so my favorite chowder growing up was a seafood chowder. No bacon but it had clams, shrimp, mahi mahi, and sword fish chunks in it and it was SO good
ОтветитьThat second bowl of chowder looked so pretty 🤩
Loved the greens and white cheese drizzle 🫶😋
I dunno about that salmon chowder and salmon is my favorite fish! The other two look delicious though. With the corn, just remove a cup or so before blending and then add back in. I would also add some corn from the cob to kick up the corn flavor. Love your vids!
Ответитьwatching davids videos with Saturday breakfast is a tradition for me now 🫶🏼
ОтветитьClaire's Clam? Really? 😂
ОтветитьCullen Skink is a soup made with a roux in some recipes and definitely not a chowder. However I’ve noticed most UK recipes call it a Soup but American recipes it’s called a Chowder- maybe it’s an American thing - thick soups are called Chowders while loose soups are called Soup? The chowder definition sounds like it can be applied to Stews? 😂
ОтветитьChowder is such an unappealing name though. 😣 They looked tasty though!
ОтветитьClaire's clam,eh? Interesting....
ОтветитьWould love a full Claire video of testing a bunch of her recipes!
ОтветитьThe salmon chowder reminds me a lot of a Finnish salmon soup.
ОтветитьOn the corn chowder, use 2 cans of cream corn and don’t blend
ОтветитьYou should do some recipes from The Victorian Way
Ответить30 seconds in...... "CHOWDER IS NOT SOUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Sorry, just have to say that. CHOWDER is a thick, amalgamation of what's around. Is it delicious? Yes! Is it comforting? Yes! Is it soup? NO!!!!!!
ME: Oh nice, some pescatarian-friendly recipes.
THE RECIPES: BACON IS LIFE
The corn chowder is going onto my Make list!
ОтветитьDavid you did SO much chopping for this video!
This video solidified that I don’t like chowders. The dairy based “soups” just kill my stomach every time
Your videos give me life
ОтветитьFor me, chowder is the king of the soups. I love them though these days I have to skip all the starches to thicken.
ОтветитьYeaaaah, we love our salmon here in the PNW. It's because they're native and we have so many varieties.
Ответитьwould love to see a video of a normal grocery shopping trip for you and what you eat in a week. break the mold of what you know your channel to be, more than just recipe testing. more real life david!!
ОтветитьMm... salmon cooking in milk..
I'll try that corn chowder tho
great video, but....
the german "translation" of the description is total crap. Please just show the original english one.
The translated one has no relevance for the video
Test dollar tree dinner thanksgiving casserole!!
ОтветитьMy inner Finn is crying that you would call salmon soup a chowder D: but still happy you made it!
Ответить"If you cover anything in lime juice and cilantro, I will try it" - David, how about a video of you covering foods you dislike - cream cheese, tomatoes... - in lime juice and cilantro and trying them to see if that improves anything? 😊
ОтветитьI think you should try to go to Claire's trickiest recipes and try to make them (you will nail them I'm sure). But you might have tips for people trying to get into baking too!
ОтветитьPlease make a "Bisque" video. This one was great. Was weary on how the corn chowder would turn out, but now I must try it. Thanks for the video!
Ответитьi just noticed that David Seymour and the way he talks reminds me a lot of NileRed and now i cant stop thinking he's a result of another reality where NileRed had a passion for cooking rather than chemistry (even though cooking and baking are chemistry)
ОтветитьYou should go to Chowderfest! It’s in Saratoga Springs, and it’s soo fun. All the restaurants make chowders for $2 a cup and it’s a big competition. My husband and I take the drive upstate every year for it! Sooo many different chowders.
ОтветитьDon't doubt that it's delicious, but wouldn't consider the Elote soup to be a "chowder" necessarily. Would still try the recipe for sure. Great episode! I love chowders.
ОтветитьWhat is that potato peeler??
Ответитьi’m so grateful you still post longform content on a regular basis 💙
ОтветитьBro said he tasted Claire's clam. Good for you brother!
