Is The Meta Quest 3 Blurry? 5 Reasons WHY, And Tips To Fix It!

I have Ambliopia in the right eye. Is the ipd relevant to me on quest 3 ? Also can you give some tips for not having blurry vision on the left eye ? Thanks !

I looked at both Zenni and Realoptix. Zenni says no need for the ADD part of the prescription and doesn't ask about PD and Realoptix ask for both and add for close up vision (bifocals) I'm still leaning towards zenni, does the ADD and PD make a real difference in VR ? thanks!

Zenni sells the vr inserts. Zenni is really good and I love getting my glasses there.

The distance adjustment is a must-have for my long lashes.

What to do if my pd is 73?

I sleep with my eyes open fairly often, dry eyes is no joke. It took almost 4 years for my prescription to settle out enough to have my fallow up eye surgery.

I’m monocular (since I was little) and have been wondering how much of the effect of VR that I’m missing out on. I describe using my Q3 as looking at a screen through a toilet paper tube but the effect disappears after I get going. So how much am I missing out on? And how important is PD for me?

I don't know why but my lens eye is blurrier than the left one, i've tried adjusting the IPD and the distance between my face and the lenses, also cleaning the lenses did not help

I went from the HTC Vive to the Quest 3 and I had the problem, that it was very blurry. Later I realized I had to wear my glasses with the Q3 while the Vive worked just fine without them. I think its because the stenopic gap in the Vive.

Why cant they juat make it one big lens instead of seperate ones? It should just be a big screen that we can watch up close. That way we wouldn't have to order custom lenses if we have naturally poor vision. Then we'd be able to watch with our glasses on without having to go through a bunch of extra steps.

I upgraded from q2 to q3 obviously the Q3 looks clearer than the Q2 but in my opinion it is not worth 499 to upgrade let alone 699. if you can get it on sale by all means i would, but there if you're thinking about upgrading cause its "better" maybe wait it out a bit. from my experience its not ground breaking next level must have upgrade. does everything the quest 2 does just at a slightly better resolution. pass through is still a bit blurry but its got color. if you can get rid of your Q2 to make up for the money spent on the Q3 go ahead. otherwise wait for a price drop cause the games, menus, layouts are all the same, and battery life is not the best

I don't know if anyone already noticed, or even if the following is correct, but quest 3 software doesn't seem to report IPD correctly. I had a severe eyes strain. When I measured approximate distance between the centers of lenses with ruler it differed almost by 1 cm compared to what quest 3 was showing on screen and what my measured ipd is?! So when I adjusted the distance between lenses with the help of the ruler, and then fine tuned it later in use, the eye strain was almost gone.

I play pcvr SIM racing with link and it starts out good but then gets a bit blurry, similar to the quest 2 after a while

I’m beginning to think getting a correct PD involves voodoo and chicken bones. My last prescription said 67, my new script says 71. The recommended apps said 65 and the other 68.5 which were closer together than the 2 Dr.s.

I just got a Q3 a couple of days ago and noticed something strange. When I was younger, I had myopia but then I got lasik done and that was that. But now that I'm getting older, I've developed presbyopia and need glasses to see up close more and more as time goes by. The weird thing is that when I'm using my Q3, the screen appears a bit blurry (not enough to cause a real problem but enough to notice). However, moving my head forward to get "closer" to the virtual screen actually makes the text clearer! I can get as close as I want and it just gets easier to read, not harder. So irl I'm presbyopic but with the Q3 on, I become slightly myopic. lol. What's going on here? I really don't understand how this is working. Not only is it strange that I'm not presbyopic with it on, but I never imagined that moving "closer" to a virtual screen would make a difference.

For me I used to wear an old pair of glasses that had a weaker subscription for distance and they broke then I didn't wear them and felt i could see pretty good and the Quest 2 had a little blur but it was more comfortable than wearing my glasses. For some reason maybe the bright screen wearing glasses hurt my eyes. When I got the PSVR2 and Quest 3 i noticed it was hard to see without my glasses. I got two pairs of prescription lenses for both headsets but asked for a little weaker so I can see farther but wouldn't hurt seeing things closer and from the bright screen. My issue now is when looking through the lenses I see clear but if I look at an angle through them it's blurry. I never thought i was supposed to get a base curve but I think that is why. I didn't think lens inserts had a curve but they may.

At the 11 minute mark, what head strap are you using?

i had the pico 4 for 2 weeks and i was not happy cause of the sharpness and clarity. bought the meta 3 and instanlty saw a difference. worth the price upgrade.

WEAR GLASSES? I highly recommend the Zenni lenses. Get your prescription and get them. Total game changer. I have them and they pop right into the head set. Comes with a cleaning clothe and a case to hold the lenses.

at the begining i was disapointed. the marketing made me believe i could see through the quest close to without it. it is my first vr headset. i wear glasses and wore them under the q3. after some weeks i got myself some lenses for the quest3 for my eyes so i don`t need glasses underneth anymore. and that was a gamechanger. now i can read screens like my monitor or smartphone through the q3. when i wore my glasses i couldn`t do it. it was just way to bright to look at a screen to see any details on it.

Is there a reason the pass through mode doesn’t use the camera it uses to record stuff in pass through because it’s a better than the camera it uses right now

the funny thing about all these lens artifacts - chromatic aberration, reflections, etc - we've kinda been primed for it in flatscreen gaming
just about every modern game released in the last 10 or 20 years has lens flare you can toggle, chromatic aberration you can toggle, and all manner of other actual visual distortions and artifacts you can add for 'flavour'

now back here in present day on the cutting edge of tech, we can generate all those same lens effects naturally in the vr headset with no gpu overhead!

Honestly, the meta 3 isn’t very good, the technology just isn’t there yet, I have one, most people complain about eye strain after 10 mins, sickness , bad Facebook logic In the menu tree ,things are awkward blurry and does not deliver the experience you expect. I dint know anyone above 20 who is actually happy with their purchase

You can disable chromatic aberrations in system settings with side quest.
I remember doing it for my quest 2 so it should be there for the 3

Dude what about angle difference can I see more to the sites like in real life?

For some reason whenever im playing, i put things closer to my face and texts look blurry

My quest 3 PD only goes to 60. Sadly because I am at 59.

I have progressive lenses in my glasses, but not sure if I should get the lense inserts?

if you play games like gorilla tag you have most likely expirenced fogging, that is usually just sweat on your lens

With an IPD of around 74-75, Ive never had a good time with VR. But the quest 3 is perfect! I set it to max, and I can see clearly from edge to edge on both eyes 😊

I can see the between the lenses when I’m playing and I’ve set the setting to everything. Is there any way to fix this?

I do notice an annoying white haze or reflection when playing on the quest 3.

Strangely it seems more blurry than the quest 2 🤷
