People... youre missing the point... people sells these mods! Nothing is done for free... Youre making money off of something that isnt yours. Sorry you feel entitled to multi billion companies assets... If someone did this to an indie developer THE SAME PEOPLE IN HERE SCREAMING AT ACTIVISION WOULD BE SCREAMING AT THE MODDER TAKING PROFITS FROM AN INDIE DEVELOPER. Hypocrisy at its finest... the gaming world and culture is full of this... sorry you made these companies so much money! y'all did this
THE GUY EVEN SAYS IT... IN THE COURT OF LAW THIS HOLDS UP! ACTIVISION WOULD WIN THE CASE.
But y'all still want to cry about it????
Which say's alot about how you view property and right to ownership over physical and intellectual property...
Damn its almost like its illegal to use licensed property
ОтветитьYeaaah I pretty much dropped all Activision games completely
ОтветитьYeah, just another reason to not buy the new cod. I know I won't, fools being to greedy.
ОтветитьThis shit makes me want to make a twitter again so I can tell activision they're fuckheads.
ОтветитьYeah this is defnitely because reworking a game's multiplayer without 42million MTX passes and Live Service garbage could cut into their money printer. Maybe we should stop purchasing their products.
ОтветитьRefunds or lawsuits.
ОтветитьBug companies doing bad stuff and nobody can stop them. How sad.
ОтветитьIt's probably the day before in the hopes that people will then decide to instead play the new modern warfare, or feel obliged to play MW2Remastered and spend money in that game.
ОтветитьIt will be released next year as MW1 remaster did
ОтветитьIP laws need to go. If you are an European citizen, vote pirate.
ОтветитьI wasn't even listening, I was just watching the gameplay, and I really want to see the ending... 😢
Ответить'Fans like it! The fans like it! Shut it down! Shut it down!' Every big gaming company when someone tries to fix their shit for us
ОтветитьFull stop. So when this happened to every other facet of life, people sleep. But corporatism taking over gaming 10 years ago and NOW yall wake up? They are not making these games for us anymore, nor for themselves. It's all calculated to achieve max profit. It's so plain to see, why is everyone powerless and blind?
Because you can't stop this "progress". There's too much money to be made from it. And those with interest in it are in the governments making policies.
They are playing us, but doing so by the rules.
And then wonder why people stop having kids, don't wanna fight for their countries anymore, depression and drug use through the roof. The system is cracking, and to be honest there's a few giant cracks allready formed.
Turbulence is on the horizon just as it is in england right now. How long? Depends on how long media, can distract us/ the gov's incompetence is tolerated.
Simple. They want to take that idea and make it themselves, so they can put a price tag of their choosing on it, then sell it.
Ответитьthey wont. i gave up on blizzard activision a long time ago...they dont care about you...all they care about are the investors...thats all they will ever care about the hundreds of lawsuits from states and entire countries point that out....
ОтветитьPeople seriously trying to revive games for these people non profit too and they’re seriously just gonna sht on their progress
ОтветитьStop buying videogames for big companies, start to see indies games
ОтветитьBig corpa will never learn will they
ОтветитьActivision really lost so much from this stupid decision
ОтветитьI’ve never been a COD player, not sure I ever will, but this says to me a few things:
1) They were tracking this for a long time, seeing it develop and seeing how effective it was.
2) They waited on purpose to get as many sales before its release to pocket the extra cash this hype generated for free. Then pulled the plug right before launch to avoid legal backlash as it’s a mod made with their builder. ( As far as I understand it, you would need specific coding to support mods, so therefore they’d not be illegal.)
3) They thought they could make it worthless to the developers who created the mod after 100% of the work was done so they could either backdoor scrape or just offer them a lowball price for it in a months time and then market it as their own idea to sell to the masses.
You get what you pay for with Activision.
All of your efforts bear little fruit, and all that is left for you is to review bomb and become bitter and spiteful towards other consumers... Maybe protesting online is not at all what needs to happen? Maybe hating on other gamers for buying these games hurts your efforts? Maybe getting behind a screen isn't going to make AAA change. All you do is watch these videos and maybe rant on twitter or some other place. Speaking hundreds of voices into a void. Maybe... Don't be like this? Do you know how people protested in Animal Crossing? Well maybe this is just as effective as that?
ОтветитьThey also probably did it because now big publishers are competing with their own past games. Retro gaming is big, largely because it isn’t monetized to hell and back. So now companies are desperate to force people to play the latest and not so greatest, hence scumbag moves like this.
ОтветитьWild. I didnt know any of this. I havent played an Activision COD since MW2 originally came out. I played the first two black ops games then switched to battlefield and in my opinion the gameplay was far superior and i never went back. Guess now i never will.
ОтветитьAnother company that's slowly but surely getting comfortable with not owning our money
ОтветитьDon't support Activision Blizzard. They are a scummy company
ОтветитьThis video: Why the day before?
Activision: WR speedrun "becoming a jerk"
Guys don't worry this is just foreshadowing.
ОтветитьThis is why passion projects need to launch unscheduled
Once online and downloaded by fans it'll stay online
Look at AM2R that nintendo killed after it released
You can find a copy everywhere online and it now sits at version 1.6 because it managed to get released before the cease and desist
The cease and desist only works on their IP if the modder profits. They are have to prove that they are losing money because of personal IP and the other person profits. If they aren’t profiting the only angle would be to point to lose but that’s harder when game sells on newer games drops of and older games get random pushes. The legal team could easily argue the profit they made since the mod announcement and that they got their profit from work. They got paid.
Ответитьwhy are you not speaking through a mask?
Ответитьshit like this will continue to happen until gamers punish these big companies by taking extra legal action against the companies' physical assets
ОтветитьI've been trying to decide whether I want to buy Vessel of Hatred. I think this issue clinches my decision not to go forward with Diablo IV. Activision and Blizzard are abusive and unworthy.
ОтветитьJust boycott Activison dont buy thier games and make negative reviews on them and refund if you can , Only if everyone revolts they will learn thier lesson
Ответитьby playing their games you are the problem .... havent play for 3 years any of their games....
Ответитьand you'll still buy stuff from them, ain't ya!
ОтветитьYou can't have a mod pulling peoples head out of the sand, reminding them of what games used to be before micro-transaction hell, you know, when games were actually fun. Because then they might actually revolt.
ОтветитьIt's capitalism, it doesn't care about your feelings, your financial situation or your health. Anything that makes money and they can get away with is just "good business".
ОтветитьSo Activision profited from the sales of a 40 dollar game because of a mod they knew they were going to axe. That's fraud... Class Action Activision
ОтветитьI find it ironic only the big companies care about mods like this, Toby Fox litterally hopped onto a fan game because he loved it so much,
Scott leaves up some fnaf ganes he absolutely could take down but doesn't because he loves the fan games
Why oh why are indie devs who should be conserned about profits not caring about them?
It's in their rights to do that C&D. But a HUGE mistake overall. Sad day
ОтветитьThat’s because Activision feels that they are going to lose money. Like you said the micro transactions the thinking that people still wanna play this game when in reality people don’t wanna play the game. They wanna play the mod. I played call of duty in years and without it being modded, I wouldn’t touch it.
ОтветитьTheoretically, how difficult would it be to pivot from graphic remaster to a proper game?
ОтветитьA very Nintendo thing to do.
ОтветитьIts funny that Activision is having this problem, considering that the company was founded by a bunch of employees who weren't being paid proper wages from a different company.
Ответитьstop crying about stuff you are to immature to understand
ОтветитьU shut our mod down? We're shutting your game down.😂
ОтветитьI dont even know why you would like them in first place there been no good games since bo4 i barely like the MP
Ответить
