@sammyandtommy the drink you got at the restaurant was Hungarian pálinka, NOT TRADITIONAL TO ROMANIA! It was brought over to Transylvania by the Hungarians when they invaded it. And pălincă in Romanian is just the Romanian version of the Hungarian word pálinka. So basically that man lied to you.

I've left Romania about 15years ago and at the time there were no such "papanași" in restaurants, never had them in my life(not until in on eonf my visits home I ask for papasi and got that. Didn't like it, not my papanasi:(...) . Mom use to make us papanași that would taste and feel like fresh cheese, not donuts, boiled , not fried... Can those be found anywhere in Romania? If someone knows.. I would appreciate it. Thanks

aww I think you guys went there earlier than I did. I specifically went there from Bucharest to attend the JAZZx Festival. I don't know if you caught any of it, it was a great mix of brilliant artists from all around the globe - coming from the US like Thundercat and Tigran Hamasyan, from India and the UK: SHAKTI (& John Mclaughlin). That was a good occassion to see em in one spot.

It might be just a coincidence you went there around that time in mid/late june - but if you did go to that concert too, that's awesome! It was great :)

Fun fact that you probably didn’t know about, if you look up the buildings in victory square you can still see the holes made by the bullets during the revolution in ‘89
