I am a fan of Emma Watson, way back 2019(not that I'll be biased to this just because of that). The thing is, our English professor tasked us to searched up her(Emma) speech about gender equality. Her speech was just so powerful, the way she addressed feminism is just so.....accurate(at least for me).
I couldn't help but feel so proud of her I find it hard not to smile at our classroom earlier today hahaha what with my classmates listening to it as well from every part of the room from their respective phones. We even have a group work (filling up the blanks) about it. Best lesson/discussion so far!

I considered myself a feminist for so long. To be fair I never cared about race or age or anything either. But I've been scared to say that I am one these last years cause people corrupted the concept so much. And this excessive corruption of feminism lead to the born of red pill idiots. Instead of everyone respecting each other, everyone is divided . Women think themselves Amazon warriors and men think themselves Mafia bosses. I am here after watching anti feminism comments on social media. Usually I am not so triggered by people's hate on social media. But today it felt different. It felt very painful to see men calling feminism cancer. So I came back to see this speech I have already watched plenty of times, to give me strenght. I am not sensitive at all, but I admit am hurt when people hate on me and my values. Thank you Emma for giving me the strenght to defend equal rights, to defend the word feminism.

I want men to be able to express their feelings because it is not normal that so many men commit suicide. I want women to have the same wage as men for the same job because it is not normal they get less paid when giving the same results. So many equalities that feminists want to fix.

Real feminists. Not the women who hate on men on behalf of the movement. Not the women who says women deserve more than men. That is not feminism.

I love and respect men as much as I love and respect women. I am rational, yet some people would call me crazy. That does hurt. Hate does hurt.

I just want equality, and I will assume it as long as I can. I want equality, and that is why I am a Feminist.
