Excellent & so ignored by my Practicing Doctors who seem programed to only wanting to hand you a prescription to midgait the symptoms & No time to go looking for the causes, like GLYPHOSATE in our Diet& being ubiquitous in most all our Food&Drink. What are the effects on our Gut Microbiome? What crops are Currently Roundup Ready these include soy, corn, canola, sugar beets, cotton, and alfalfa

I was a 60s breast fed baby , 9 of 10 children.
Playing in the dirt was a daily event.
Had the mumps in kindergarten but never lost a day of school after that.
Throughout my 62 years i have only been down to illness a small handful of times that lasted a week or more.
I have always put my good health to consuming much citrus (vitamin c).

I'm a layperson so not the best judge of scientific info. I think this is a great presentation. I already knew tooth decay microbes are passed from mother to child but this is so much more than that. It makes sense microbes effect so many things. Fascinating! Thanks for uploading this. Keep this kind of info coming. Every person should know this stuff. Microbes effect everything in our lives.

Dr.Susan V Lynch gave a fantastic talk on Human Microbiome and she is well organised and concise in her delivery. Ever thought that the vaccines could have altered our microbiome? Children are getting more and more vaccines introduced to their body throughout their life. Could the vaccines perturbed the existing microbiome community? How many vaccines were given to children in the 50s compare to now? How about the prescription drugs?

Just a thought regarding the failed efforts of studying/treating Chrones disease with fecal transplants... I would think you would first need to be sure that the gut lining was healed enough to keep the bacteria in their proper place; otherwise, the transplanted bacteria would simply be able to enter into an area of the body they do not belong, including the bloodstream. I have read that there are several natural products, such as Slippery Elm Bark, that could be first used to heal the lining of the gut where you may then see a more successful fecal transplant.

Thank you for the awesome video and for your contributions to the advancement of "life" science!!!

I have this concept that, In gut we have two types of microorganisms 1 which is associated with the gut lining 2 which associate with the food, and in fecal matter mostly microbes are food associated microbes, so fecal matter does not show true picture of gut microbiome, so is it possible to take whole microbiome from healthy participant gut and then use it for FMT, a) is it possible? b) If yes then wouldn't it be more effective for improving disease related to gut microbiome disbalance

Rather than engineer “bespoke microbial treatments” why not avoid highly processed food, meditate, and consume a variety of high fiber fruits, vegetables, and legumes? All of which are shown to create a healthy gut. Gotta laugh at the US scientific community—we are the richest, but unhealthiest, country on earth. And we keep expecting advances in science to fix that. More obesity, more crazy politics and mental health problems, more screwed up microbiomes, more Covid deaths—it’s not pills that’s going to fix that. It’s lifestyle changes.

Pretreating patients with antimicrobial is an obvious route to opening space or as you say 'clearing the decks' in the intestine for a good outcome of FMT, however would it not be better for a colonic water flushing of the system as this should reduce and prepare the system for a better uptake as there would be no antimicrobial residue to impact differentially on the various microbes in the FMT?

I have no more C DIFF spores 🌝 Now that I have brand new gut bacteria, I am living ,and eating to feed THEM ❤
I feel like a new person mentally, physically, and spiritual!!!

It would be helpful to define "plant based diet" and "animal based diet". There seems to be an implication that there is no such thing as a "plant AND animal based diet".

*"The Divine Microcosm: A Cosmic Tale Unveiled"*

In realms where starry whispers gently glide,
A hidden symphony begins its cosmic ride.
Imagine a world where molecular dreams are spun,
In an invisible ballet where the magic's never done.

*Bacteroides* lead an intricate, unseen dance,
Deconstructing complex compounds with a subtle chance.
*Firmicutes* join in, fermenting fibers so grand,
Turning them into vital byproducts with a deft hand.

*Lactobacillus* works with a quiet, delicate grace,
Transforming lactose in a hidden, enchanted space.
*Escherichia coli* performs a vital, unseen role,
Generating necessary elements to keep the system whole.

*Bifidobacteria* weave protective layers with flair,
Shielding the realm from threats lurking there.
*Actinobacteria* bolster defenses in the quietest way,
Maintaining a balance with a microscopic sway.

Fungi like *Candida albicans* play their part with charm,
Yet *Saccharomyces cerevisiae* keeps the process calm.
Breaking down sugars and enhancing vital aid,
Ensuring that the harmony within is carefully laid.

*Giardia* and *Trichuris trichiura* add a twist to the scene,
With roles that weave through this mystic, unseen sheen.
*Butyrate* fuels the cosmic cells with a glowing embrace,
While *short-chain fatty acids* keep inflammation in place.

*Proteobacteria* signal and respond with a twist,
Fighting off intruders with a stealthy assist.
*Fusobacterium* aids in breaking down with finesse,
While *Prevotella* processes with a keen, intricate caress.

Crafting neurotransmitters like serotonin with ease,
Shaping thoughts and moods with an elegant breeze.
Their grand performance, so profound and sly,
Crafts a cosmic saga beneath the naked eye.

And now, the revelation that will surely astound,
This divine symphony is not in the stars to be found.
It’s not in the heavens or among the astral gleam—
But in the deepest sanctuary where our secret wonders teem.

Yes, this celestial dance, so intricate and wise,
Unfolds in a place where the truth truly lies.
It’s in the colon’s vibrant, bustling scene,
Where cosmic intelligence crafts what remains unseen.

So laugh and marvel at this hidden delight,
The universe and your gut share a marvelous insight.
For in this most unexpected, sacred realm of lore,
The miracles of digestion make the cosmos adore!
