I've had butter burgers since I was a kid, honestly Wisconsin burger joints typically dress it up with pickles and ketchup and sometimes fried onions. Very rarely default served with just butter.

Slugburger called a slugburger because a slug was a FAKE nickel -- so a burger doped with bread would be kind of a fake burger.

We do not make butter burgers like that in Wisconsin. I have never seen anyone make a burger like that in Wisconsin.

I can safely say the goober burger is not worth it in terms of taste it's not terrible but not amazing. If you're like me and have been contemplating for a long while it is worth making at least once just to satiate your curiosity

FYI, for those wondering why a burger with peanut butter dressing is called a Goober burger — at least as far back as the mid 19th century a colloquial name for peanuts has been “Goober Peas”.
