The verifiers of Signature Edition computers?
The company that says Windows only need a quarter of the amount of ram they really need then OEM to manufacturers that solder ram in making them non-upgradeable AT ALL!!!?!?!
And any PC laptop or desktop that is upgradeable needs tools to remove the covers, often times remove the keyboard even, the optical drive or optical drive enclosure, sometimes remove the drive to get to the ram slot, typically having to remove the existing ram making ewaste to upgrade it. And that's easy compared to increasing drive capacity. Requiring the same difficult access and tools but also using cloning software and adapters and ewaste to replace the drive. Again that's even if you can but you can't in most surface products at all.

So glad I bought a PS5 versus any Xbox. Surprised with all their Rings of Death they didn't go the way of the Microsoft Phones.

I hate hypocrisy and fake scare tactics. My AU$229 CORSAIR MP600 PRO LPX 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe x4 Gen4 SSD - Optimised for PS5 was a snap to install and has been my default install location and working without fail ever since.

Lexar NM790 is compatible with PS5, but I installed mine on an ROG G513QM laptop with PCIe 3.0 slots. Works great with my Steam library games.

Hey Linus what if you bought a 1tb m.2 and now want to upgrade to a 2tb? How would you transfer from one to another? My ps5 is 500gb and I don't want to transfer to consol than swap drives and transfer back little by little is there another way?

Got a Ediloca EN760 4TB with read 5000 and write 4500 saw the same screen about it being under specs of PS5. Filled up about half of it and still no issues playing PS5 games on it. It does however take an extra second or two to load. But a 4tb NVME for $206 I'll happily wait that extra second or two.

One brilliant thing I really prefer using an external hard drive on series x let's you copying games to ssd and still let you play something else in the background where as ps5 locks you on a progress screen and with the insane sizes of games these days.... Well modern warfare 2 /warzone.... 1hour 22 mins currently.

To save you 16 minutes: no, the PCI-E 3 8TB Sabrent drive didn't work. The "slow" PCI-E 4 2TB MP600 did.

MS and their easy CF Express expansion was and still is the best option, but the way that prices stubbornly stayed astronomically high was something they probably didn't count on, and to be fair to them, was something that nobody could have predicted given at how SSD storage prices have plummeted. Even now, 2 years after this video was made, my PC/Phone shop STILL has PS5 owners coming in to ask why their new m.2 SSD is being rejected by their playstation 5, not just because sony have been utterly hopeless with communicating what specs the drive needs to be, but also because the error that pops up when you insert an incompatible drive is still utterly useless and general, with absolutely no specifics except 'the drive won't work'. Sony sucks.
