ОтветитьDisappointed not to see Good Will Hunting even mentioned. The repartee between each set of characters is brilliant and is what moves the film along at an ideal pace.
ОтветитьThe fact that the social network is not on this list baffles me.
ОтветитьCoen brothers would be good to see here. There isn’t a line in Big Lebowski that isn’t quotable.
ОтветитьI totally disagree on any Quentin Tarantino movies that have this type of dialogue in it. All there is is long-winded blustering. People don’t really talk like that. My suspension of disbelief is out the window whenever I hear it.
ОтветитьRandom one but what song have you got playing int background during the hunger scene ??
Ответить#6 was an inconceivable choice
ОтветитьYour top two put a giant grin on my face!
I was mostly a tech in theatre. But I did get to be Antipholus of Ephesus in Comedy of errors.
Played the lead in No Sex Please We’re British as well. That was fun banter and timing too.

12 Angry Men is missing and The Man From Earth deffo deserves a mention.
ОтветитьA piece of me dies everytime I hear Aaron Sorkin praised
ОтветитьAmerica is an entire continent, not just one country. even in AMERICA there are several other languages
ОтветитьIn the Loop not getting an honorary mention in the UK section feels like an oversight
ОтветитьMORE dialogue, less commentary please
ОтветитьJust show the thing. STFU about it. Nobody searched this to hear your stupid comments, only to hear the DIALOGUES.
Ответитьi think in Lady chattterley's lover, the letter written by mellors to connie is one of the best ending in cinema
ОтветитьI wonder how many of these films would work without the good to great actors in them? If the script could hold up to just average actors.
Ive seen several good writers/directors' films fail due to casting actors with no talent because free was all he could afford.
'You can count on me' would be impossible to watch without someone of Laura Linney's ability. Mark Ruffalo of course is playing the part of Mark Ruffalo, the only role he knows.
No Paris, Texas, the booth scene. Not even a mention?
ОтветитьAs a German, I Must say, that the movie “Victoria” has the most authentic dialog I’ve ever heard, which is mostly due to the fact, that the script was only 3 pages long and the rest is mostly improvised. But the result somehow feels so unpolished and real, that it makes the crazy night that you’re experiencing that much more believable!
ОтветитьI want to listen to the dialogues, not your blabla
ОтветитьWho cares your burger when you're a dead man.. that's why that scene was so fd up
ОтветитьBranagh's remake of Sleuth made into a verbal slugfest by Howard Pinter deserves a mention in Dialogue as Conflict.
And while Steve Jobs absolutely deserves its place there, some credit goes to the editor who edited it like a fight scene.
Im so sad you didnt include anything from Monty Python. Holy Grail has some of the best, most clever, subtle dialogue ever written.
"You've got two halves of a coconut and you're banging them together! ... Where'd you get em?"
"The swallow may fly south -"
"Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?!?"
The entirety of that movie is one clever line after another. There needs to be another list.
If you are going to claim a scene is great.... THEN LET US WATCH IT.
ОтветитьKevin Smith movies?
ОтветитьWhat about BLADE RUNNER, tears in the rain?
ОтветитьSideways is another movie with great naturalistic dialogue. The scene where Miles and Maya are out on the patio talking about why they love wine is some of the all time greatest diaogue ever put to screen.
ОтветитьChinatown: Cannot believe you missed this: "She's my sister and my daughter."
ОтветитьFor stylized dialogue, I've gotta advocate for Frank Miller. His entire body of work. Since we're talking about movies, the most obvious -- and, coincidentally, the BEST -- example of this is the over-the-top noir styling of Sin City.
There isn't a single scene in that entire film which fails in terms of dialogue. EVERY character is quotable (with the possible exception of Elijah Wood, who doesn't talk).
Good Will Hunting should be here!!! How Robin Williams’s character talking about his wife and with loved ones in the hospital even dying there is no Hospital hours.
ОтветитьBefore you revisit this topic can you wait for the release of “The Banshees of Inisherin”. I imagine it will be up there with “In Bruges”
ОтветитьI love a dialogue full of beep beep beep...
ОтветитьWhere is Heat and Casino
ОтветитьMan I am oficially addicted to this channel... but no All About Eve??? Mh
Ответить12 angry men is the best in my opinion
ОтветитьOne film that sprung to mind is “What’s Up Doc”
Streisand’s staccato delivery is flawless. “Bannister-as in sliding down the…”. Gold Jerry! Pure gold!
Shakespeare stands above all.
ОтветитьTarrantino isn't subtext, it's just entertainment. The words belong to the characters, not the writer.
ОтветитьShakespeare. Accept no substitutes.
ОтветитьI agree with 12 angry men. They should have included flashback dialog like the sandlot and stand by me!
Ответить“Everybody betray me. I fed up with this world.”
Ответить"His Girl Friday"!
ОтветитьThe room has the best dialogue.
Ответитьyo the writing on this channel is amazing keep it up
ОтветитьWhat? Where is Picard from First Contact? "The line must be drawn here!" I thought this was about the very best dialogue?!
ОтветитьLove the way he explains things but shit I haven’t seen half these films lmao 1930’s n shit Hahaa nah. Idk shoot me
ОтветитьI have always been a fan of the stilted dialogue in Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon". Two scenes in particular serve to illustrate the vacuousness of "polite conversation": the hilarious scene when Barry is robbed by the highwayman, Captain Feeny, and his son in the woods. ("And now I'm afraid we must get on to the more regrettable stage of our brief acquaintance." or the delicious scene near the end between Barry's mother (Marie Keane) and Reverend Runt (Murray Melvin) where the name "Reverend Runt" gradually, through repetition, becomes an insult. Just brilliant!
And, yes, I think your voice sounds sexy and I would love to take you out for a night of passionate romance!
