Love dark tranquillity so much. Been a fan since I heard lost to apathy. Too many people sleep on these guys but they were ahead of the curve by many miles.

It's anything but mainstream. If they had gone heavier, would you have complained that they sold out? Just because they shifted to a little different style doesn't mean they aren't good anymore.

In flames sold out to who? The main music producer is same Anders Friden. And just because band tries diffrent stuff or diffrent styles so on doesn't mean it sold out. Gosh.. just because it no longer produces the genre of music you prefer it's shit? It's just your own preference nothing else.

I knew stanne was on the first album ages ago, like 10 years ago. also that Anders Fridén was on DT's first album. All i was getting at is In Flames released a string of solid albums, then sold out HEAVY and now release bullshit. DT have always stayed true to their sound and released consistently solid albums. In Flames turned to complete horseshit after clayman and DT lives on.

and likewise Anders Friden was the singer for dark tranquillity on the album skydancer and mikael and anders even did a DUET song called shadow duet, you should definitely look it up.

except the fact that mikael stanne used to be the lead singer of in flames on the albums lunar strain and subterranean.... shows how much you know.

I disagree. I was pretty much raised by listening to rock music. Both my parents are into this kind of music, so I developed a taste for it at a very early age. I don't see a reason that would stop the same method from being applied today. I don't believe there's genetic encoding for liking metal, more like a memetic one.

@musicguitarlessons Dude; music is music. the music played these days isn't of my personal taste, and that's just it. everyone has a taste in their own music. dub-step is unique in every damned way, hip hop isn't what it used to be but people seem to like it, rap isn't what it used to be, but it's as the same with hip hop. if you're truly appreciative of music, you wouldn't be bashing the artists or the writers of a particular genre of music. they're makign money, just like metal artists do.
