Does the module go back to the default settings when it loses power?

The circuit diagram shows 3 capacitors required but your breadboard doesn't have any. Can you please explain what's required?

Do you know how can i check if the gps are damaged?, i have a Quectel L86 but it does not work, i dont know how can i check if its ok, the board detect connection but not receive coordinates.
