Ah now this is a game that I look back on very fondly

Loved it on the Wii.

I miss the times where I played this game on the Wii in my mom's living room back in 2009

mater national is this but better, so underrated.

I watched Cars 2 for the first time last year and quite liked it. But I'm and old fogey.

I own.... the DS version. I am getting the PlayStation 2 version though. I also have the Wii version of Cars: Race-O-Rama and the DS version of Cars 2.

Great video mate. I loved cars when I was young too. My mum brought me the DVD and I watched it so much she had to buy me another one because I’d worn it out and it wouldn’t play. God knows how many hours I spent on the game 😂

Dude this was one of the first games my family got for our Wii. We didn’t do any of the racing or completed the story, we just drove around Radiator Springs and Tractor Tipping (it was our favorite scene). Despite possibly only completing 1% of the game we loved it!

I remember that i had to sail the Seven Seas to get this game the last time i had the itch to play it.

i didn't like the movie but i loved the game.

Before online multiplayer games existed my cousins, brother, and I would gather around my PlayStation 2 at my grandma’s house and play games like this. We would spend hours driving around the open world Radiator Springs and pretend like we had to run and hide from the police car every time he randomly spawned in an area.

This game was good, but both Cars: Mater-national Race and Cars: Race-O-Rama (the best one IMO) where even better. I HATE how they havent made a modern open world story cars game yet, they just keep pumping out the Mario Kart rip off that was Cars 2: The video Game and Cars 3: Driven To Win. With Unreal Engine, imagine how close to the movies they could get a modern Cars game to look...

I got the game delivered to me and my family after apparently winning a competition. Neither me nor my parents remember entering the competition

I feel bad for how my elementary school ruined Cars and Finding Nemo for me. Whenever we had a movie day from like age 7 onward, they'd play one or the other and I got so sick of both those movies I can't watch them to this day lol. I must've watched them against my will like 20+ times each.

GameCube version has weird glitches and the camera freezes up if you play it too long, PlayStation 2 version doesn't have this glitch.

I was 12 when the movie and game came out, rented it at least once got it for my 13th birthday on GameCube.

The only thing I didn't like was Motor Speedway of the South was just a high banked Indianapolis and Los Angeles International Speedway was more like Daytona and neither were like the tracks in the movie.

Where are the behind the scenes footage from?

I don't know what the UK PlayStation store has but this game is available on the US PlayStation store for PlayStation 3 for those interested, I think it's just the PlayStation 2 game upscaled though.

My brother and I love trying to beat each other in the pit stop mini game. Each of us furiously inputting the button prompts as fast as humanly possible I can still beat him now and then, but my age is starting to get the better of me

I remember playing Cars Race a Rama as a kid

I love the earnestness you discuss the hyperfixation at the start, as somebody with a channel that focuses on licensed games myself I often fear somebody will say something like "why do you care so much"
But its simply i love seeing what these games try to do with the properties, and sometimes you find something surprising and I love sharing that experience.

Cars the Video Game is a treasure, and the Xbox 360 version make the visuals such a knock out of the park! The one thing holding the game back is just texture resolution and the 360 bridges the gap to make it so movie-like.
