For Shinji shikai. They should put a timer after activating shikai. At first everything is in inversed in terms of controls. But every 5-10 seconds some controls return to normal until eventually everything returns to normal and the character acclimated to the shikai.

It's that easy.

Then remove hyori and give him a weaker cero instead for a ranged option. Boom done
