I am an airliner pilot and since couple of months i am using Picopresso. It is really very good for long layovers and long flights, hotel rooms even long waitings between flights. Very compact and very easy to carry and cleaning. And its espresso is i can say very satisfactory especially if your water is hot enough. I only changed the basket with an IMS basket which is not so expensive. Thanks for the video…
ОтветитьI would like to see WACACO Minipresso NS2, Portable Espresso Maker Compatible with Nespresso Original Capsules.
Ответитьwhy isn't this man on the bbc. superb programme making.
Ответитьhandpresso is a stupid invention imho.... instead of making something wih valve you put a pump on, from your roadbike or mtb suspension for example, they put a fix pump on it and making it bulky while still useless caused by the capacity. something like this would be cool af for me as a cyclist: /watch?v=EqHF_O9rWSU
Ответить“I mean, if you were out there in the wilds, you didn’t have a table. What are you going to do? You’re going to put this on the floor? You’re going to pull a shot on the floor?!?” I don’t know why I’ve rewatched him pulling a shot on his belly on the turf so many times. It’s so ridiculous it makes me laugh! 😂 It was totally worth the shot. I appreciated the commitment of his joke.😊
ОтветитьNomad look 100% like toy. From random construction to colors and cheap look.
ОтветитьConsidering getting picopresso for home due to this video. I really like coffee, I have nice grinder, that also happens to work for espresso and sage precision brewer, though I often use aeropress for myself as I used it for years before I bought the brewer. But I don't really have that much of an interest to get full espresso setup, I really espresso drinks, but honestly I kinda like it as treat just sometimes and I don't really miss it at home. It would also be both expensive and quite a bit of extra work/counter space.
On other hand picopresso could give decent espresso at home sometimes, especially for tiramisu! I could also get jura milk frother for some latte.
I'll never not think that espresso is just better coffee. It always is.
Ответитьi love the end go somewhere stupid actual lol
ОтветитьBecause James said so, I'll bring the flair pro2 on my. Next backcountry adventure.
ОтветитьThis is a video is a lot of fun.
ОтветитьAny chance you could review the outin portable espresso machine? Seems like a super interesting option now too.
ОтветитьF'ing legend.
ОтветитьAs a owner off About 70 diferent commercial maschines And Lever maschine lover i recommend Mypressi twist. Extraction is marvelous.
Ответить100% Sold on the Pico!!!
ОтветитьFlair pro2 the best!!
Cheers from Argentina!
Such a quirky, funny video. I think the little bits of sarcasm here and there outdone the quality of the espresso part.😂😂😂
ОтветитьFast forward one year; there is new portable espresso like outin. Would love if you could review that 👍
ОтветитьWould love to see you do a “guide to lever espresso” video
Ответитьcant wait to go try my pico i just paid $19cad for.
ОтветитьPicopresso is a nice espresso device. Not ideal, but as you said it's truly portable and flexible. It is worth mentioning that you can buy some accessories and improve it and even make a setup with a stand in your kitchen :)
Ответитьi just had the hardest dmt trip of my life watching this video, i felt like james was with me in my room teaching me the ways of portable espresso. what a marvelous time
ОтветитьI think there is an argument to be made that portable does not mean outdoors friendly. Portable in my mind would mean that it can be used in different locations easily. Staying in a guesthouse or hotel for example. in which case, the The Flair PRO 2 would make sense.
Considering some of the hotels I have stayed at, I think it would be pretty cool to stick one of those in my luggage and be able to make a decent espresso when at work functions etc without having to go down to the breakfast room.
Could you do a comparison of the wacaco picopresso and the staresso?
ОтветитьI wish you'd revisited the Picopresso, especially considering it had the introduction of the pressure gauge.
ОтветитьAnother beautiful London day!!!
ОтветитьIs it only me having the feeling that in the thumbnail James is positioned like that for a purpose? Or the lever, to put it more precisely 😂
ОтветитьWhat grind do you use expresso does not work on mine have to go much more course
ОтветитьHave you tried the Outin Nano 😊
ОтветитьI bought a used Handpresso in preparation for a transatlantic sail a few years ago (which never happened) and I've actually just used it for the very first time. I didn't make much effort to get a good grind or even give it a fresh clean, but I have to say it's not that bad - on a par with a Lidl pod in a Nespresso. I suspect there are some little tricks to getting it up to optimum (as with virtually every espresso machine you've used). That Nomad has got to be the least portable machine ever: I can't imagine who would consider that convenient in a travel context - other than perhaps if you can set it up on a counter top somewhere for a few days at a time. Definitely not a hiker/sailor/cyclist sort of thing. Looks like a great science project that got taken too seriously. The Flair looks like a handy DIYer could make a couple of adjustments to make it dismantle for packing - but you still would never use that out hiking or sailing or pretty much anything when space is at a premium in your carrying kit. Portable, for me, means it fits in a pocket or takes little space in a bag, and can be used anywhere without needing a table. Now, portable boiling water is a different story...
ОтветитьWell James, occaisionally my wife seems surprisingly cheap, yet then I recall that was the original attraction !
ОтветитьOnly Sir James could concieve this staging..blue shirt, blue seats, blue odd machine..yet mysteriously he neglected to sport his blue eye glasses😳
ОтветитьThe water in the Thermos is anything but 96C water after a while lmao
ОтветитьId really recommend NOT using naked basked on the picopresso. Youll get much more splattering and messyness without using the rubber screen underneath.
ОтветитьI have wacaco pico and flair pro 2 both are amazing enjoying with them, nice extraction
ОтветитьEvery so often I come back to this video to make sure that they haven't changed the thumbnail of James and his giant espresso machine dong
Ответитьthe question is: is how to boil water on a boat? a thermos won't keep it at 100-98c :O
ОтветитьLovely little gadgets. But useless.
ОтветитьEven apart from its suboptimal performance, the Handpresso looks far too much like one of the many modern “herbal use only” pipes on the market. Beyond the noted pumping-related embarrassment, I have a feeling that thing would get anyone using it a lot of sideways looks and may even arouse the suspicion of any nearby police.
Ответитьhave you tried the mypressi twist
ОтветитьJames loved the video but i feel your thought process is missing a huge market for these products that millions of people fit into.... the Limited space market.
What if you have a tiny kitchen and there simply isn't the space for all the espresso gear?
Caravan owners?
Camp sites?
Your nomad and flair suddenly become more fitting.
"Danger brew"
ОтветитьThe Nomad seems ideally suited to a narrowboat or campervan
ОтветитьThat’s a thumbnail with intent.
ОтветитьTake it somewhere stupid ... challenge accepted! Already made sushi at the most remote lighthouse, the bar has been set!
ОтветитьWas the nomad made by fisher price 😂😂😂
ОтветитьThe flair could be adapted with a dc electric motor on top and be the best out of them
ОтветитьSee, a portable machine would be a lifesaver at my work. I have infinite access to fresh water via snow or going back inside, I have infinite time walking slowly and staring at an open field, and there is no coffee maker at my work.
Ответить
