PS5 PRO ENHANCED MODE - Higher FPS, Ray Tracing BOOST & More

I really liked my ps4 pro. I felt like the games looked and played a lot better than the base ps4. I would love to get a ps5 pro.

A playstation showcase would be nice if they talked about the playstation 5 pro.

I hope it comes in black instead of an all white version like the original and the slim🖤

I don't care for this the same way I didn't care for the ps4 pro.

The only reason why i think this thing exists is for pssr. Get it out, get devs used to it. Have pssr get mature updates to fix its issues that its going to have. And that way when ps6 releases we have a mature AI upscaler that is on par with dlss. Maybe even frame gen at that point.

That's the purpose of this machine. It serves nothing else other than making sure that some of the tech it's pushing is mature for ps6.

The PS5 pro is what I consider the real PS5. I expect a jump in graphics like from PS2 to PS3. The UE5 character system requires reaytracing for same fidelity as in 4090 tech demos. The nanite system of UE5 requires the extra RAM in the 18GB now available.

People keep laughing and saying "what's a teraflops?". Parallel processing, on "floating point" numbers... I find it easiest to visualise, with "max triangles on screen" number from PS1 era. The teraflops increase is from the GPU. It shall be able to have at least double the triangles. And the 18GB RAM, both allow for nanite to the max. And nanite is where race for more triangles ends. I just consider PS5 pro to be the real PS5. Read the developer system requirements for Unreal Engine 5 and you shall understand. And to get same detail of the UE5 characters, also raytracing is necessary. So it really is a min. spec. final gen 3d console. If people optimise stuff into the new AMD GPU cache, it should actually provide a jump like from PS2 to PS3. But game studios went cultist and stuff, so not many shall do it. But the possibilities shall be there.

And, PS6 is going to be like PS4 to PS5. Just a little bit more complex raytracing/pathtracing... You know how there are consoles which can be considered "the most ever needed for 2d"? Well, PS5 pro, could be considered as "most ever needed for non-vr non-pathtraced 3d". The cache in the new AMD GPU is what could bring the difference like between PS2 and PS3. If someone actually spends the same amount of quality work as when they made the PS3 games.

I am sure most are going to change their minds when AMD AFMF 2* FPS boost for any title without publisher intervention gets included into the result. It is going to be the best way to play older PS5 and PS4 games. In my opinion, it's PS6 that won't be needed.

Everyone saying what's the point are kids who are trying to figure out how they are going to get their parents to pay for the Pro after getting the basic PS5 over Christmas. Bring on the Pro, i love to spend money.

I would wait and see if it performed better as they seem to point at 4k/60 in all games then for sure yes.

If its another crap like ps4 pro then they can keep it on shelves just like VR2.

At the very least, I think the PS5 Pro will increase the resolution of the existing fidelity and performance modes. I would say 3rd party titles need it the most. Can't expect all studios to be at the same level as Insomniac in terms of PS5 optimization. Some games in performance mode look downright blurry.

Yes it may be expensive but I am not paying the whole amount , I will be trading in my base ps5 and it normally works around paying $300AUD more which is not bad at all

I agree with you, Paul. I don't understand the naysayers on the Pro. Like you, I'm primarily a PC gamer, but I definitely enjoy console gaming as well. I LOVED my PS4 Pro. As to the PS5 Pro, I'll be there day 1. What's not to like about more horsepower?

I never get the hatred towards any consumer tech. If you don’t want it, don’t buy it. Simple. I never got the mentality of people that lose sleep over how others spend money when it doesn’t affect them. If you don’t owe me or are asking me for money, I don’t care if you spend your money on stocking your freezer with 10,000 popsicles.

I think people just talk power power power, GPU, CPU. I personally think Mark Cerny is a genius working with AMD and Sony engineers to make a highly customised console. It just benefits console gamers. What's wrong with that? The future is bright for console, especially playstation gamers🤷🏾‍♂️

If it enhances my already amazing experience with VR2 and GT7 I will be getting it day one.

After all the hype of the ps5 and series X. I am reserved with my expectations of the PRO consoles coming.
8k 30 fps. They said the ps5 could do 8k and it can barely reach 4k.
Lets hope for a true 4k experience at 30 fps

My only complaint is the weak CPU. Wish it had at least been a 3700(X) or better still a 5700(X/X3D)

Ok, I will confess. I asked for a Pro. I called customer service and was like, "hey bruv, can you make a PS5 Pro"

The people that are giving pushback probably just got there ps5. Then there’s the people that’s bringing up the lack of games, mainly exclusives. but we knew a year and a half ago that the pro was coming. All I would do is just trade in my standard ps5 for the pro that pretty much will knock the price in half almost. I always prefer to have the best version of that product.

I hoped to be with 3D stacked memory on the CPU and to be hybrid like the GPU not just Zen 2 CPU, but still I am waiting for the PS5 Pro.

The reason why people are asking 'who asked for this?' is because of diminishing returns in perceived quality.

Most games are going to be virtually indistinguishable to the previous generation and the higher game development budgets required for new hardware won't significantly result in higher profits.

For consoles, putting the money in their first-party titles makes more sense than wasting money on new hardware where you get to replay a remaster of a remastered remake with marginal benefits.

Also, consoles are generally sold at a loss or very small profit markup.

I think MS knows their hardware and game pass isn't enough. They will have access to Steam, Epic and other game launchers next gen and try to market the system as a budget gaming PC in some respects.
Sony will try to do the same perhaps with a SteamOS app of sorts. Both companies are going to try to push the hardware capabilities and supplemental PC game compatibility to bring in more than just your usual console gamers hardware sales.

I skipped the PS5, thinking there would be a Pro model. I guess my bet paid off. For me this is a no-brainer
