And your excitement made me jump back into sod2 many times over the years . Sod should definitely hire you as a hype-man for sod3 .... its a sad day and a reminder that i am getting older haha but that means sod3 will be coming sooner then later! I hope they fix the spawns. I know they can't get it perfect, but it's a bit frustrating when you clear an area with only one entrance or exit and get attacked from behind on your way out. Or like a wide open field you clear to set up a mission or plan, then turn around and it's full again. It breaks the emersion and feels pointless to try. Like the fantasy is clearing an area, free of Zs and making a safe place. I wish there was a mission we could do that on the map we are on after we finish PHs and everything else. Some way to truly make a safe city before you move on. Because irl they wouldn't be infinite. The feeling of accomplishment of killing everything possible before you move on to a new map or community would be awesome

I will always play sod2. Just like sod1 I still play sometimes and they quit doing anything to that a long time ago. The fact they have continuously made the game better for this long is crazy for a game pass game. I used to play another game on game pass that still gets updates , but they made it worse imo

We knew the end was coming eventually, but it was still somewhat of a shock to hear Geoffrey mention it the other day on one of his personal channel videos. I actually think a final state will be good, as the mods people have can stay stable forever. I loved playing it (had 4,000 hours in it) but no matter how many new features they added, you had basically the same 10 missions, no matter which map you were on. It got to the point that features and maps didn't change the basics. I said from the beginning, their focus should have been on adding many more possible missions. Still, it was and still is a very good game. Can't wait to see what lessons they learned and apply to SoD3!

End the updates with a new map. That would be awesome. Or id love to see arrows with explosive arrow heads

Stay of Decay, my beloved! I went through some health issues too when I started playing this game. And I put countless of hours into both games. The original and the sequel. It's so amazing they kept SoD 2 going and I honestly can't wait for part 3 and discover what it has to offer. I am hoping for so much - references to former characters, maybe some will even be back. Sasquatch? Whatever is left of the Wilkersons...and Danforth, I hope they'll re-implement that city. Lifeline was effing rad!

Make a video from update 1 - update 38 showing all the stuff they did to the game for memories sake and such.

I'm actually glad updates are ending. Too many guides are outdated xD Last time I played was before the update that added plague heart pulsing, so I'm going to have to learn what all the new stuff is when the final update is out.

What a run, got the version where I got it 4 days early and skipped school to play on day 1 ! Top 3 games for me for sure. I’ll keep playing till sod 3

State of Decay 2 game is not AA. If modern day trash can be called AAAA this game is at a minimum 4 times better. And this game was released 6 years ago, for half the price of modern day garbage.

The thing I appreciate about Undead Labs above all else is how they don't tell us too much. They don't give release dates prematurely that will have to be pushed back. They don't reveal any new gameplay mechanics beforehand, so they never make empty promises. It's refreshing to discover a game yourself instead of having it all revealed before you get your hands on it.

Definitely a bittersweet moment. I'm sad that development on SOD2 is over, but happy that SOD3 is on the horizon.

Considering that they break something else when they release an update, we'll get more hotfixes, for sure

When is the fix for the glitch in daybreak where you run through walls and bullets go through enemies without hitting them going to be fixed? I uninstalled the game because of this glitch

I bought in hype for this game, as a poor student new computer to play it from day one (on MS Store). Bought it again on steam, to play it on Linux. To this day SOD2 is in playtime my most played game. For me its best zombie survival game.
But still in my heart missing weather (i know, engine limitation) so, im hyped for SOD3.

There were a couple things I was hoping they would add:
1. Make it so we can heal enclave survivors or make them heal over time. After doing a mission with them, it doesn't seem like they ever heal.
2. The ability to prioritize missions with better time management. Sometimes 4 missions can pop up at a time and some of those missions are NOT urgent. Sometimes you just want to loot. Sometimes you want to take out an infestation or a plague heart. Sometimes certain missions are timed, and other missions expire when they probably shouldn't. And sometimes you just don't feel equipped enough to tackle some of the more dangerous missions.
3. The ability to get dropped off, picked up by an enclave or team member, or the ability to retrieve a car. Imagine having a survivor that dies and now your car is all the way on the opposite side of the map. It would be cool if there was an option to get dropped off to retrieve it, or to even get dropped off to retrieve a new vehicle.
4. Emergency missions. Imagine encountering 3 blood ferals, a juggernaut, and a few hordes and retreating to a roof to escape death. Now imagine being able to call home and being able to switch survivors so that you can go save your teammate who's stuck on the roof. Right now, you can just turn the game off to cheat death. But wouldn't it be cool if you bring an ambulance and lead the hordes away in order to save your fellow survivor?
5. Rework hostiles. Make it so zombies and freaks attack hostiles and not just you! Allow zombies and freaks to be turned into weapons when using scentblock.

If they never add these things too SOD2, then we can start a wishlist for SOD3.

It isn't ending. The updates are ending. There's a difference.

I wonder if they would do like how shadow of war did it with orcs being transfer over from shadow of Mordor. Have a favorite character or family to transfer over to the new state of decay 3

I hope sod 3 will have single player/multi player just like sod 2

I remember my first time playing State of Decay 2. My friend got me to play it and I started my first community on nightmare difficulty and I remember having so much fun sneaking around the woods in providence ridge

Undead Labs is really underrated. We talk about Larian, Bioware, etc. And those devs definitely deserve it, but Undead labs certainly deserves to be on that list.

SOD3 will be so much fun!
So excited with them hinting at deeper character personality models! AND the fact that they are aging the zombies, like it’s a living breathing world! Details are just great!

I purchased the game from the Microsoft Store as a pre-order and to this day I've still never played a full game on the Drucker County map. Started several, but never played beyond the initial "get established" portion in the starter house. Also for six years I've refused to watch anyone play on that map so it remains a total mystery to me.

Still waiting on fixed zombie spawns. I’m sick of cleaning an area then them respawning immediately.

Survivalist invisible strain is way better then state of decay 2 . You can have a community of 150 survivors if you have the food and water for all of them, every survivors have different skills and purpose. Cook, carpenter, archer, shooter, doctor, base building , community wars, winter, spring, summer and fall, even hunting and cannibalism. A real survival game.

So many years of this game and loved every second of it, let’s keep the good times rolling with state of decay 3 everyone 🎉

Listen @Sunny Games Pls bro talk to the devs or just mention this. It would be cool if in state of decay 3 they would raise the max number of recruits and we could put some of our people at outpost so its not just a empty building and the let us build like one thing for support or supplies wouldn’t this be cool i hope i have explained this well

I appreciate their efforts, but frankly I largely disagreed with everything they have done. Instead of dealing with age old bugs, new maps, and new gameplay mechanics that most people wanted they focused on cosmetics and bounties for years. New patches just brought back old bugs, or introduced new ones, with no way to roll back to older versions. I am happy this is ending. Because we will have a final version that modders can feel they have time to work on and we might get Darkside and other mods back that can take the game in new directions [the nicest way I could say that, btw].

i want 1 quality of life change and its a simple one let us change hair styles plsss!!!!!

1. When if ever will State2 address the crappy coop system? I've been hating it since launch day1 and have never been able to enjoy the game properly with my friends. Nobody wants some halfassed singleplayer experience with ''drop in drop out coop option''.
2. I hope State3 takes NOTHING from State2's coop. And everything from a typical Dead Island/ Dying Light/ Warhammer 40k space marine's 2 coop. Shared everything. My partner loses on of our survivors - we have to now deal with it. There's 0 excuse as to why State2's coop is this horrendous.
