I had a chance to review both the New Dell XPS 15 2020 and the Dell XPS 15 2019 versions personally.

My only complaint about the new Dell XPS 15 2020 version is that the
keyboard is good, but not as good as the 2019 version. I love the
keyboard travel, and the power button feels SOLID on the older version
of the XPS.

My two complaints about the older XPS 15 is that it
supports only ONE M.2 Slots, and that the speakers are on the downside
instead of having top firing speakers like the 2020 version does.

Having wider keys is bad because it makes accidental typing prone. Having lower key travel is also bad for typing

Bad experience so far. Bought XPS13 on 28 June 2020. Motherboard failed on 3 August. Dell refused to send me a new replacement computer. Dell ordered a replacement mother board so their on-site technician can change. Technician arrived 24 August with replacement "refurbished" mother board and it too failed. It's a brand new computer. Next estimated parts date is 7 September. The computer is now broken longer than it functioned. Unhappy user.

If you dont mind ne asking where are you from ive been to plenty of different best buys ga nc dc etc. Haven't seen one with that much variety. Looks like a candy store. I would definitely go broke in there.

Is it worth picking up last year's XPS 15 over this year's XPS 13? I haven't owned a laptop in several years cause I do everything on my phone. But decided to get a laptop recently. I ordered the new XPS 13 9300 from Dell and I got a good price on it due to my employer discount. I got extended warranty, etc. But I can get a speced out last year's XPS 15 for $200 more with same extended warranty, etc. Is last year's XPS 15 a better deal?

Beware. Bought this laptop in April 2020 from Dell's website using a credit card. Without my permission they used my card to sign me up for a premium tech support subscription. When I noticed the monthly deductions, I emailed Dell and told them to stop. No response. So I've called their customer service numerous times. All I get is a "due to coronavirus" brushoff and the charges continue.

For goodness sake please stop calling it plastic. It’s carbon fibre. I dropped my XPS from waist height onto pure concrete on campus once and it only resulted in a small dent in the corner. Not a physics expert here but I don’t think plastic would’ve fared nearly as well.

im buying one for school right now, i got the i7 with 512 gb, 32gb 3733 ddr4 ram, and the touch screen (not 4k) for less than 1600, the exact same computer at apple is almost 2250, its crazy. Get the Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 8 with 14.0" UHD(3840x2160) IPS Glare 500nits Non-Touch Narrow HDR and you will be amazed.

Really? Can you even compare the previous year i7-10710u (7390 model) with this year i7-1065g7? No way this year is an improvement, its a downgrade. 2019 7390 model 6 cores. 2020 9300 model 4 cores. What are you talking about man? 2019 model has no usb type a anymore. You maybe talking about the 2017 model.

Xps 13 vs Xps 15 please!!!

Just ordered mine, at the expense of a massive hit to the bank account, but I am looking forward to updating from my Lenovo laptop. Decided to go the i5, 8gb RAM, 512gb SSD.
Now the waiting game for it to arrive.
I will more than likely upgrade the RAM and SSD down the track.

The carbon fiber protects against fingerprints? I've heard much more that the XPS is a fingerprint magnet.

So at the same price which should I buy, the late 2019 xps13 i7 or the 2020 with the i5?
