honestly linux is either for privacy conscious people or tech savvy people .. and by the way, linux OSs' crash a lot more than windows, and if someone say's that is the user's mistake! I would agree but that also means you have to be tech savvy person (maybe I am saying this because I am used to windows so if I was used to linux then the crashes will not happen, maybe)

this video is so well made, tho because it was 5 years ago things have changed, and at least for me switching to linux was pretty easy, i tried a few distros before on which i couldnt install nvidia drivers, but on linux mint everything worked perfectly fine for me and still does, so i really recommend it if you want to switch from windows

You bring up a lot of valid points, but one thing you didn't mention is that universal packaging formats like Flatpak exist, so you don't have to deal with dependency issues when installing via Flatpaks, Snaps, or AppImages.

The main reason I use Windows is that it simply works, and you can use whatever commercial software you want or need, because there is a Windows version for nearly everything. In addition, I don't believe software "must" be for free. Nothing in life is for free, and commercial software creates jobs.

I tried Linux was a hellish experience i personally have a tool i use to disable all the telemetry worked wonders but i liked linux kinda but the lack of support for my main programs i use all the time was unreal i liked debian 11 but i ran into a common issue refresh rate i tried all the commands people told me to do and none worked

Linux is far better, I have dotched winblow, totally ditched winsucks. I can ply ever game that winblow does using bottles. Most users have no clue hsw great linux reslly is. It has been polished to a point that hardware is all recognized

As a person that has used Windows from Windows 3.1 up to Windows 11, I can say Linux is 100% better than any version of Windows from 8 and up. With Windows 11 adding in AI in the coming months I'll take Linux Mint 21.1 in a heart beat over Windows.

Using Linux does give a great sense of control, but overall I think it’s cool that we all have our preferences. And that’s what freedom is all about Some like windows, others like Mac, and there’s people on Linux. Whatever helps you enjoy your computer the most, just enjoy it. 💪

One reason I suggested a couple of y friends to switch to linux is because their computers aren't really capable of run the extra bloat of stuff like windows, where you can find a fairly light distro that works great and has a desktop environment.

After reinstalling Ubuntu, an update came. While updating I had to shut down the PC because my data pack got exhausted. Right from that point, everytime I logged into the Ubuntu, it simply crashed. Finally, I had to clean install Windows. So, u cant pause linux updates most of the time!

Linux is not hard. It's just different. Give me a couple of hours with a Windows user and I'll have them fairly comfortable with Mint or Ubuntu. It's especially important now that so many people are unable or unwilling to get Windows 11. I've used Linux since 2009 Ubuntu, then Linux Mint) and have experimented with Bodhi, Manjaro, PC Linux, Open Suse, Lubuntu/Xubuntu, React OS, MX Linux, Debian, Knoppix, Zorin, Mageia, Makulu, and a few Open BSD distros as well. I'm not an expert, but I don't shy away from the CLI in either Linux or Windows. I use both equally, although I use Windows 10 primarily just to keep my hand in for providing tech support to friends and relatives. My first Linux "experience" was Corel Linux, downloaded over a week on a 56K modem way back in early 2000.

For privacy reasons I would switch to linux right away but windows programs keep me in captivity. In my opinion it should be made mandatory for MS to help Wine devs. Otherwise it would be unfair business advantage if windows can now run linux programs but linux cant run windows programs. US should make some law or regulation that would mandate MS to share their source code with Wine devs in order to compensate for Windows ability to run linux programs.

I think it's a bit unfair to say Linux is more reliable than Windows. Yes, on the backend Linux absolutely beats Windows when it comes to stability and reliability. No questions about that. But as a Desktop OS for the end user? Absolutely not.

No, NO, No, it is not better than Windows. This is not for those of us nontech people, only tech types need to apply. I tried Linux, and Zorin OS, but when I ran into trouble I couldn't get any help. Even the Zorin community site ridiculed me for being naive. I spent a lot of needless time getting rid of it and going back to Windows 10. Never again will I use it no matter how much I hate Microsoft. It should be illegal for 77-year-olds to even watch videos that promote it. lol
