The GTX 1650 Is Now Steam's "Most Popular" Graphics Card - But How Good is it In Late 2022?

i love these 75w cards, they go in too heavy on high end power guzzling cards these days , at least with these you get decent game performance low profile , low heat output, and most important low electric bills, so yeah, not a bad card at all really.

If these graphics card prices don't come down, they're gonna kill PC gaming. There's this thing called diminishing returns. You only have to be so good, and that's good enough. Graphics quality works the same way. PC gaming has existed for two reasons. 1) Mouse/shooter combo is superior & 2) PC's are more powerful, even at the beginning of a console's cycle. At some point a console will be able to provide the same experience as a gaming PC, and cost 1/4 the amount. That day is coming soon. The PC hardware guys are struggling to prevent this (they can read the tea leaves), and that's why they keep beefing up the graphics at huge cost. The cost is fucking ridiculous for these latest gen cards (and that's coming from a guy who spent $3k in 1984 on a computer).

Can't for people people going a brain and actually upgrade from gtx 1000 and other gpu( limited to dx 12 )to rtx 2000, 3000 or 4000 and rx 6000 or 7000 ( compatible with dx12 ultimate)

Very decent card and the best thin on it is that you don't need a great CPU to run. Old cpus like 10100F, 9400F, Ryzen 2600 or Ryzen 1600AF are more than enough to keep it at 100% gpu usage.

As many comment have noted, the rise in popularity of the 1650 is surely due to it's presence in budget gaming laptops. You can do your school work comfortably, or work from home on it, while also playing AAA titles at 1080p 60FPS, all for the price of a new console. That being said, the new king is surely to be the RTX 3060. It's pretty decent price to performance, and if Steam didn't separate the laptop version from the desktop version it would've been #1.

I Play a lot of rdr2 and fsr has some impact on graphics especially around the trees, you can especially spot blurry low res pixels on scenes where depth of field is enabled

I strongly recommend getting a second hand gpu instead of buying a new 1650. There are some insane cards you can get for the same price or very slightly more money that will give you vastly more performance for your money. Current 1650s are ~£200 yet u can get 2060s for as low as ~£150 used (closer to £200 average but my friend got one off eBay for 150). The performance increase and even the possibility to try out raytracing is a steal. You won’t even realise ur gpu is used once u put it in ur case.

I was bought GTX 1650 in first week Oct 2022, and the performance quite very great! Most of my favorite games are really smooth on my new graphics card. Also I'm very happy that the GPU memory use 4GB GDDR6 and 300W recommended only, still able to run on my several years of 500W PSU.

The relatively good results have a lot to do with your i5-12400 which is paired with, really an unlike match. If you pair 1650 with an 4 core i7 of the past or 4core i5 of that time, which most of users with an 1650 pair with, then the results will be much less, i think 20-30% at least

1650s only are popular because prebuilt manufacturers have a ton of those in unwanted stock and use them for cheap prebuilts to sell around the holidays. Or to scam uneducated people.

The way you hold the card at the beginning makes it look like you’re holding kind of a big potato.

Gddr5 or gddr6

I have a Palit 1650 with GDDR6 apparently for a long while now.
And I haven't got anything bad to say about it.

It has respectable performance and it plays the game I like really really well. Did not regret buying this before the big crypto hype a couple of years ago. Still very capable.

I got 12100f & 1650 gddr6 in my office PC & I can run cod at 120-150 fps on 720p recommended performance

1660ti for 120 usd or 1080 ti for 250ysd or 6600/6650xt for 300usd are all better choise😎👍

My first pc in 2016 was a 1060 upgrade to knew pc to a 1660s then was able to upgrade my 1660s to a 2070s i sold my 1660s to a friend for his first pc at 1080p

i built a pc for gaming and more of photoshop and editing.. it has a 11400 i5 and gtx 1650.. is the bottleneck on this setup really bad?

I am very happy with this card. It runs many modern games at high 1440p 30fps.

After playing fallout 4 for months on Intel UHD 620 (around 17fps average at minimum settings) it was a pleasure when my son bought me a (barely) used dell laptop with 4gb 1650.

Here's the thing if the GTX 1650 is the number one card on steam then Nvidia should have every reason to keep focusing on the lower end of GPUs but they aren't that makes me think if the new AMD apus are to blame and it's possible Nvidia has inside knowledge about the Ryzen integrated graphics that are making them back out entirely

That better not be the desktop 1650. If so, consumers really are idiots. Why somebody would buy that thing over a cheaper and slightly faster 6500XT or especially a much better used card is beyond me. You can get a used RX 580 8GB that is 30% faster for half the price or a GTX 1070 that's 70% faster for 30-40% less.

I got my gaming laptop on March with GTX 1650 and Ryzen 5 5600h,it was a worth upgrade from a Pentium laptop with no GPU

A good little runner to keep you going in e sports and a dabble in slightly older AAAs.. just hate to see them in pre-builds that are advertised as modern and high end

OC'd to 2020mhz core boost. Not bad.
I wanted a gpu just for world of warcraft, I have consoles for everything else.
And it plays it wonderfully.

I just ordered a GTX 1650 4gb GDDR5 version card. I can't wait to use it in a few days 😊😊 side note : I'm only going to use it in old games and emulation 😊😊

I recently bought a 1650 for about £83.

It was the best card I could get for the price and requires no external power.

There are not a lot of options in the secondhand market especially at the price range I was looking at.

So I ordered it when I saw it. So far, so good, and I am satisfied with it combined with a Dell optiplex 9020.

First real pc gaming experience. It blew me away how much better it performs compared to laptops I am used to.

I justo bought a second hand evga 1650 4gb ddr5 for 79 bucks. So for that price i'm more than happy with the performance

2023 i can confirm i run modern games at 60 sometimes with upscaling enqbled but still the games look great bottlenecking is minimal & easily fixed tweaking the settings with a mix of high & low or medium & low settings

Why ppl prefer the 1650, when the rx 580 is better?

gtx 1650 is my 1st love n 1st ever pv w gpu i bought But the problem now when its time for an upgrade is 1=power psu+2=the gtx1650 is soldered in my Lenovo pc so i have to buy a whole new PC altogether a more expensive thing(so what i learned to do the latest 2years is to read up on stuff n just blindly listen to the stores sales men another time around!)

But i still think gtx 1650 in my desktop together with the i5 9400f+16gb ram works way better then expected in 2023(yes alot of the latest releases is a horrible gaming experience at lowest settings like Starfield soooo yeap gtx 1650 still works but not for long!!

it's the RTX 3060 now.

Im playing path of exile on 1440p, almost maxed all settings and the game runs really smooth and looks amazing. Honestly i was pkanning to buy a new gaming computer for 3000$ or more but this little beast of a card lets me play almost all the games i want to play on max settings 1440p. Granted i dont play many triple A games, mainly rts, arpg and indie games...so yea...zero fucking regrets. Pair it with a good monitor and eye candy all day long

Just got one for 75$ for a dell optiplex 7040.

Even with the gtx 1650 I will be the happiest gamer for the next 50 years cause I can't afford rtx 😢
