Starter tournament has changed, I think. Speed gear is for everyone who hits 1K points - so progression. The top prizes are a blue shard for first, 75 gems for second, and I forget what is for third.

Everyone says 6 star your starter champion. I pulled magnar before my kael was even level 50 so I 6 starred magnar first. I barely use kael anymore

Its funny that I burned one of my early epics a dwarf trying to get my starter champion (I took Elhain as a starter which is a serious setback I later learned) to rank 5 I still don't have her any higher than rank 5 lv 50 and I don't yet qualify for high Khatun among other things still grinding quests the worst quest yet is 35 Arena battles or something because Arena sucks right now.

Used my epic books on Coldheart, because somehow I get more epic books than rares

I would do tip 2 then tip 1, the reason for this is that unlocking the masteries will help you get more gems a lot faster. Two months later you will be in a better position.

Gem mine is a total waste until you've decided if you are going to keep playing the game after 2-3 months. You'll get much more value using them to mastery your first champ or two. You easily get 2500-3000 gems your first month or two just from focusing Missions and Challenges.

Quality tips

I still cringe when I think about books and how I spent them..

I'm on day 38 (ftp) and I'd disagree with the gem mine. Getting masteries on Kael made it possible for me to get a lot of free gems sooner. I believe I finished my gem mine at least as fast as I would have without getting the masteries. So yeah, I missed out of a half a week of free gems in the long run but was able to progress a lot more quickly. I am certain that (once again due to free gems) it allowed me to get my second character with full masteries faster (Bellower). Since then I've been putting all the gems into the sparring pit.

Disagree with the gem mine first. You'll be able to progress more doing masteries first + I feel like the new player experience you get more gems then you use to.

I just started a referral alt, and I think it's better to buy your first set of masteries before you go for the gem mine. Makes it so much easier to push in the early game and get to brutal 9-3 where you can start leveling your first 6 star and farming warmaiden dupes. You don't miss out on a lot of gem income in the extra week or two it'll take to get the gem mine up and running, but you get an insane amount of power putting masteries on kael right away.

I actually did 2 sets of masteries before gem mine because I picked up an elhain. Been able to 3 star everything up to second last stage of brutal campaign. I'm up to the arbiter mission to get silver in arena. I've finished most of the artifact and dungeon challenges up to the last tier or two, and I've unlocked advanced missions already, all within 4 days of gaming. Needless to say I won the novice tournament by almost double the points due to how strong kael pushes in dungeons with masteries. Am also on a 1.5m normal clan boss per key already with kael / elhain / mother superior / warpriest / delver, but got a fayne from sacred 2x and i'm gonna get her in there asap.

saved up all my shards for today (37) and got crap all blues multiples of same one too ! runic warder x 4 ,templer x3 and other junk I already have .... games getting boring for me now

why the are no void epics on undead hordes?
