One small change about the Sonic classic mode, I think having metal sonic be the final fight before the gallium boss would be a cool reference to Sonic 2’s Death egg zone, where you fight metal sonic & the death egg robot back to back.

The idea for Pokémon trainer having the boss on stage 5 also fits most Pokémon games. Prior to Black and White, you’d always defeat the main story’s final enemy before proceeding to the Pokémon league.

Note: Zero Suit Samus’s mode in Japanese is “Master the Wire”. The idea being that for most of the characters, the “wire” in question is a tether grab. But for Little Mac, they went for the wire frame costume as a pun.

Roy’s final boss being the hands makes perfect sense.

Master Hand being the boss of Fox's route could be a reference to Andross' hands... but then it should have been both Master Hand and Crazy Hand.

Fox could've fought the Hands with the Andross assist trophy making an appearance to reference the Andross boss fights where he's just a head and hands.

Little Mac is really the only one I disagree with. You pit the professional boxer against a dragon instead of TWO LITERAL HANDS.

I feel like Sonic's classic mode should have been something more related to busting robots, where he fights robotic fighters or fighters who in their series have been robotic at some point, like Megaman, ROB, Meta Ridley (Technichally could also be a cute refrence to the Egg Viper, Egg Wyvern and the popular Egg Dragoon here), Meta Knight (Mecha Knight in Planet Robobot), Snake (He might be a stretch but he's the best I could think of) and then keep the metal Sonic to represent Metal Sonic. Then have the final boss be Galleom to represent an Eggman piloted final boss mech. Maybe have an animal fighter represent a various animal friend (Yes that is their actual name) from the classic games or one of Sonic's friends, like Falco representing flickies (birds), Dedede representing peckies (Penguins), Pichu representing pockies (rabbits), Fox representing Tails, King K. Rool representing Vector and Incineroar representing Blaze, and possibly have the only assist trophies able to spawn be Shadow and Knuckles

For round order, I think it should go Meta Knight, Snake, Megaman, ROB, Meta Ridley and then the Metal Sonic with the ally order going K. Rool, Falco, Pichu, Incineroar, Dedede and Fox and have the boss be Galleom, ofc. The reasoning for the fight order is that some of Eggman's robots have defected, so it's going from most likely to defect to help to least likely to defect to help, and for Galleom K. Rool, Incineroar and Fox could come back representing the "friends supporting sonic" thing we often see in the games to help fight Galleom. Possibly name the Classic Mode for this version of Sonic's "Metallic Madness" which is a double refrence, calling back to the zone of the same name and the Sonic Heroes boss, Metal Madness
There could be more fitting names but I can't think of any

for the mirror battle for Byleth, you could use Meta knight's Dark meta knight costume, because DMK is from the mirror dimension

For Wii Fit Trainer, the Hands as her boss don't really fit, so I'd make the giant K. Rool fight the final one, and find someone else as a stand-in.

We can kinda understand why the Hands were used in Dedede and Villagers route.
The hands are kinda the rulers of the smash bro universe, so Dedede fighting them makes sense.
And the Hands are literally just a pair of hands. You wouldn't think they would be as dangerous as they are by that appearance alone.
We will agree to the ones you replace them with works way better, through we think Ganon would work for Dedede as well, as Ganondorf is said to be the king of the Gerudo, and reincarnation of Demise aka the Demon King.
