The Stanford Prison Experiment has also been shown as methodologically unsound.

The essence of the experiments’ flawed place in pop culture is the “prison guard” students were explicitly instructed to treat the “prisoner” students in inhumane and abusive ways.

In 2023 they use women fleeing from domestic violence situations. It's not like they have anywhere to run. And when you try to escape homelessness (and the evil scientists) you get a series of blockades. I remember trying to check into several shelter, only to be turned around because "housing is only for people with mental issues." There was another instance where I thought I found one decent shelter because it was Christian-based. They insured me all I would need is an ID. Conveniently I get a tow-ticket, only for the same Christian-based shelter to tell me I needed an ID, SS card, and to have my photo taken. Yup. They were trying to make a case and get a few bucks. Apparently evil scientists pay decent bribes. But then that's just my experience in Louisiana.

And this is why Cornell's psychology department maintains an archive of Candid Camera videos.

You can do more social psychology research as a comedy TV show than as a university-sanctioned researcher.

I wonder if another video similar to this will be made 100 years from now about the unethical behavior of people like Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates and Anthony Fauci?

Ive been forced into medication without my consent. Ive been held down by security guard and doctor to tranquilize me and vaccinate me without consent. Ive been to another hospital where they sedated me after i was self referred where i was treated with disrespect as i was on my period and they provided white pants and no period products after i had been bleeding for hours. These hospitals dont change. This was in 2015 and 2017

Sometimes I think unethical psychology experiments are far more beneficial to certain things than ethical ones. The Milgram experiment is a prime example. Some of those results would have not been had if they had been informed that there was no actual harm being done and this was all just for a study. In order to understand how so many break the rules you have to sometimes break the rules yourself.

They won't let me leave my room, I have no food or money and the constantly cause me depression and anxiety to show ptsd. Everyone including my parents are involved. I have no one and nothing. They have been doing this for at least 2-3 years now. My name is Danielle Leo. Please someone help me!!! I have zero control of my life.... I'll be surprised if they will post this comment 😢😢😢

I was watching this for a class discussion for Introduction to Epidemiology to do a discussion based on ethics in research related to an assignment we are turning in a couple of weeks. And watching this, it made me think back to all of my Psych classes when I've heard of these experiments done and it makes you think, "What made these people come up with these experiments?"

Little Albert: Obviously experimenting on humans is unethical without their consent (or in this case the full consent of the parents). The problem with the results is they did not understand that classical conditioning was not specific to the rats but generalized to other things. What would happen if he heard a sound similar to the sound they made in the experiment? This is likely what happened later. The CS of the sound was creating a CR (fear not just fear of something) but as with Pavlov the dogs only needed to hear the sound now to salivate. So I am sure every time Little Albert heard a sound he became overcome with fear.

Ok... At least 3 of the examples where heavly criticed in their time due to methodological flaws and never where considered valid results between peers. Ethics be dammed.

Bad video. Please, don't fall for the clickbait allure.

the one about the seizure is probably the most innocent one on here. obviously, if the person says they're prone to seizures, that means they've survived every seizure they've had thus far. I personally wouldn't feel too panicked listening to someone with a history of seizures saying they're about to have one, though I might be biased considering I have health conditions myself

The Reimer twin study was pretty damn unethical too considering the "doctor" involved was a chomo and both twins eventually killed themselves as a result of the trauma

Wasn't it also later found that the Stanford Prison Experiment was very biased to begin with? Like the guy running it had assumptions about what kind of abuse goes on in prisons and actively encouraged them to abuse, leading the study to be completely useless as its results were created from the researcher's own bias?

I always joke my brother Pavlov conditioned me as a child. He grew up in a state where you call soft drinks soda, and the state we now live in call it pop. He started to refuse to get me a drink from the fridge when I asked unless I said soda. Now I say soda and all my friends and coworkers think I’m weird for not saying pop

The covid experimental vaccine 😮

Ethics.....blah...blah...informed consent....blah...blah.

🤔 words on paper, what about immunity from legal harm claims?

Maybe the world operates differently from simple ethical practice and words on paper. Maybe those words should be codified in law. 😆
