Why did this video show up on my home page 6 months later?

Thanks for the video - I'm just researching my first Smart Home steps and it can be quite daunting! Do you think having a family of iPhone and Apple Watch users is enough of a reason to go all in on Homekit? FWIW we also have 2 Echo devices (dot and the basic one) plus the entry level Google Wifi mesh. If you have a recommendation, I appreciate it! Thanks again

Just found this video, great video on how to get started. However a sidenote on the Sonos speakers. They simply won't work on a home network with multiple vlans...

as finnish person.... i would never choose amazon because that's not a big thing in here....the fact that apple is the only one whose smarthome can be controlled in finnish language so im forced to jump ships from android to apple and tbh i dont really like that...but talking english and having english on my phone just doesn't feel natural

I think beefing up your network (wifi/switches) is the first step or non of you smart devices will work properly. Smart plugs will also make dumb appliances smarter and the easiest to do.

What about smart things?

The Google home platform with Google devices and wyze devices has been awesome for my space. Smart bulbs, plugs, cameras, doorbell, and speakers. Thermostat is up next to add.

Hubitat easier than home assistant and cross platform?

Bose are a better option for speakers

This is very bad start up video...for many reasons.

Smart lights are the best starters in getting a smart home. They allow you to learn the home system and gives you confidence to expand to other implements

I think you forgot to mention a major one and that's Samsung smarthings
