Started a bin a couple of weeks ago and I am finding that the Ca nightcrawlers are staying on top. They seems to really like the moist cardboard layers that I put on top. Does that surprise anyone and should I be concerned? Perhaps it means my bedding is inadequate? I used several layers of shredded paper, coconut coir and cow manure compost.

Hi Dave. My daughter and I built a worm farm as per your instructions. We seem to get a layer of thin white mold growing on the surface. Is that normal?

Thanks for the great video!

Really enjoy your videos; I'm a fellow fisherman too - love every kind of fishing, and know the Saugeen well. I have raised red wigglers for years, but had no idea you can do nightcrawlers like this as well. Thanks for sharing this!

I have had some trouble keeping a colony of our nightcrawlers. I have a colony of red wigglers that are 15 years old. The night crawlers can't live with them for some reason. Any idea on how to fatten red wigglers up? Some of them are so small that I can't see any fishing with them the bigger ones would need a small hook. I live near Barrie On. I usually just put my paper product into a bucket of water let them soak up the water drain let it come down to room temperature than add to my worms.
