Im a bit frustrated here! Been selling online since 2001. Had a VERY successful shop on Etsy that I closed before the pandemic for personal reasons. Its so OBVIOUS to me that the biggest problem of all... and I mean ALL the Etsy issues is the LACK of sufficient, badly needed and easily obtained customer care, communication, transparency, service that Etsy DOESN'T offer it's sellers! Typical big company Management problem! You guys..sorry, but you aren't offering any solutions to Etsy or its sellers. And thats what needs to happen! But in order for that to happen we need to get Etsy to open its eyes, ears and doors to reforming its Communication Model with its Sellers and start offering easily obtained dialogue between sellers and Etsy team representatives. That's the Etsy Revolution that sellers direly need to be pounding on their door about IMO.

ОтветитьEtsy seems to be heading down the same path. I used to spend hours browsing Ebay, I rarely go there now. The same is starting with Etsy.

ОтветитьWe. Need. To. Speak. To. PEOPLE!! Etsy doesn't exist without sellers. The sellers ARE Etsy's income. Why not treat the sellers like they actually matter...since they do? It's absolutely wild that there is no human any seller can contact. Look, I know paying people to be on the phone would cost $, but:
* Sellers could sell more with better/correct info (that makes Etsy more $)
* Sellers would be more loyal and stick around longer, particularly successful ones (that makes Etsy more $)
* Sellers would be more motivated by confidence to list more items or even open succesive stores (getting a hint? That makes Etsy more $!)
Give us people to talk to and help. When the sellers get help, they are successful. When they're successful, Etsy makes money. What possible reason would Etsy have to NOT want sellers to be successful??
I think some people are annoyed about the $15 shop setup bc of the fact that Etsy already gets a fee for everything listing and its successive sales. I already have a shop, so the $15 wouldnt apply to me, but I could see a problem moving forward. $15 isnt a big deal, but Etsy is going to say hey if they're willing to pay $15, then how about $25? How about $40? And before we know it, its $100. If the REAL reason they were charging the fee was to keep out scammers, then it would be a deposit and not a fee. Once you hit certain milestones that legitimate shops would hit, you earn back your deposit. Otherwise, their reasoning isn't being honest about their intentions and are using "safety" as a smokescreen for a money grab.

ОтветитьI think the scariest thing is to work with a new company and starting a new business and to hear that there is not a human to answer questions cause they don’t want to tell how to fix something is mind blowing. I am little scared to have platform on Etsy.

ОтветитьHello, new here, subscribed :) I have been an Etsy seller since 2007, so been around since the beginning! Just this year my sales really slowed down! Also, had an experience with two shops, took my design and pictures, reported to Etsy and they shot them down, so that's good form Etsy, but it is been hard and looking to learn more, thank you :)

ОтветитьI am in the startup point and was planning to start an Etsy ship, but I have seen a lot of these disturbing issues in the immediate / recent past, and am suddenly strongly leaning against using Etsy now. I still have some decisions to make, but this seems to be too much of a headache to fight with.

ОтветитьMy shop was just banned after selling for over decade. We design and produce our own products in South Carolina. Many of our items have been counterfeited by Chinese companies. I will focus my attention to my own websites and marketplaces that respect and appreciate their sellers.

ОтветитьAnother thing Etsy needs to know is that many CEO's have stepped down. The good side of government is looking into fraud, and many other things. That said, Etsy may not get away with everything.
