The idea of mitigation the issue that failed jumps result in a death is so important to me that I completely eliminated instant-death pits and hazards from my games.
ОтветитьIt occurs to me that the same thought process behind Kirby’s flight might also be why Sonic 1 had seeming “get out of jail” cards in Rings and the Rolling action. Players hate losing by something they can’t see, but they also want to be able to go fast. These 2 features might have been added partly to reduce the risk involved in charging ahead
ОтветитьHey sakurai have you ever looked up Kirby memes?
ОтветитьIt's interesting to think of what would have happened in an alternative reality where Kirby grabbed enemies with his tongue before Yoshi
Edit: Fixed Typos
Dreamland ❤❤
ОтветитьCan anyone tell me what happens to the enemies inhaled by kirby? What is Sakurai Idea?
ОтветитьI would love to hear more about devs mindsets on games they developed
ОтветитьI love how people complain about Kirby’s difficulty being to low and now I can direct them to this video and tell them
It’s LITERALLY baby’s first platformer
The part about getting hit or missing a jump being common and how a lot of games severely punish you for it by insta-killing you was really interesting, because I've noticed that with a lot of games. I hate it when you can be punished for a minor mistake and have to start over, and prefer when there's at least a little room for error in the form of a second jump or multiple hearts, that kind of thing.
ОтветитьMy very first game i ever played and beat. I can still remember running and telling my parents i beat it, i was 3 and a half.
ОтветитьThe game that started it all, thank you Sakurai ❤️
ОтветитьMy first conscious memory is playing Kirby's Dream Land on my aunt's Game Boy at three years old, so I can attest that it's definitely a good game for beginners. I was still getting the hang of "going potty" but I could take down Whispy Woods without too much trouble.
ОтветитьNice, already writing down some ideas for my games!
ОтветитьThis reminds me of cuphead, I thought the game was cool and interesting but I found myself leaving the game forgotten on a shelf. I didint play it much since it was so hard
ОтветитьI could listen to this guy talk about Kirby for hours.
ОтветитьKirby's my favorite Nintendo game
ОтветитьWe love your games
We played a good majority of them mainly Kirby and Smash Bros. ones
I remember playing Kirby on a friend's NES. Never was able to beat it then (due to time constraints), but, man, was that a fun game. Definitely loved the fact that you could inhale enemies and copy their abilities. And seeing some of the thoughts behind this series is great!
Ответить"This was before yoshi even existed" DANG I feel old now.
ОтветитьI love how the gameplay decisions were in the name of accessibility, yet they also lent themselves to more of a puzzle-platformer lean. Was that genre much of a thing at the time?
Ответитьやっぱ客層を考えるってのも重要なんだな~
ОтветитьI played Kirby’s Dream Land it was a good game but it was way too short. It took me like 25 minutes to beat the whole game, but that’s ok it was the 1st games you made.
ОтветитьHappy 30th Anniversary Kirby! I think I completed Kirby's Dream Land maybe 1,000 times as a child, even though I was already used to playing more difficult games. I played it everywhere I went on my Gameboy Colour and I never got tired of replaying it. I still love to replay it even though it's a short and easy game for me to complete now. I still love the fun gameplay, visuals, and music. It shows that a game doesn't have to be too difficult or challenging to be enjoyable, sometimes it's fun just to be an overpowered puff. It's one of my favorite games of all time. Kirby is still my favorite Nintendo character. I think most people who played it started drawing and doodling Kirby everywhere because of that intro, me included!
Ответитьカービィが白い!😮
ОтветитьKirby fun pack was my first kirby game and still my favorite co op of all times.
Still enjoying playing it nowadays
I made my kirby plushys watch this video so they can see their dad
ОтветитьHe looks as cute as kirby is
ОтветитьVery excited to see more of this series
ОтветитьI feel the point about getting hit by an enemy and falling into a pit being similarly common mistakes yet one is usually much more punishing to be very interesting. When I played King Knights campaign in shovel knight, I almost always used the armor that saved you from dying in pits. It just felt really bad to instantly die like that.
ОтветитьFaz um canal versão brasileira
ОтветитьIt’s really cool hearing him talk about his first creation like this
ОтветитьHe was just 19 at the time of creating and directing Kirby?!
Amazing.
maybe a game concept for Super Smash Bros. on the N64
ОтветитьKirbin
ОтветитьI wouldn't say the game is for gamers who haven't really played games before but they are more for gamers who are stuck on games like super mario bros 3 at the time who need an easier game. Wish I realized that game existed back when I was 9 years old.
Ответитьwow! 😃 I just want Shigeru Miyamoto to make the same kind of channel.
ОтветитьI beat the game and the extra game quite recently. It's such a fun game.
ОтветитьI'd never actually been very interested in Kirby before these videos, but now I'm curious about these games. Don't be surprised if you see the sales of a game increase sharply after you discuss it's smart design decisions! I just wish there was a readily accessible way to play Kirby's Dream Land without having to hunt down a Gameboy cartridge or the Wii Kirby's Dream Collection... or play it through other means that nintendo would look down upon. Do you have any interest in discussing game preservation as well?
ОтветитьSakurai created a God being like Kirby
Ответить“This was before yoshi existed” man I feel old lol
ОтветитьThank you very much for sharing. With so many gamers now, I feel like introduction to games can be much more streamlined and sometimes skipped. What is nice about Kirby's Dream Land is the core gameplay is still fun even if it's meant for everyone. Do you think most games need to have tutorial's nowadays?
ОтветитьWow, I had no idea Kirby's Dream Land was still the best-selling Kirby game. I looked it up and it sold more than Adventure, Super Star, and Crystal Shards' sales combined
Ответить
