The Gardoš or Millennium Tower was one of the 7 towers built by Hungarians at different points along the historic borders of pre-1920 Hungary to commemorate the 1000 years of Hungarian statehood. Zemun or Zimony how the Hungarians call it, belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary before 1920 for more than1000 years. It was a border town in front of Belgrade on the Serbian side of the river. The territories North of Belgrade called Vojvodina and Srim have been multi-ethnic Hungarian regions for long centuries. Serbs fled to these neighboring territories when the Ottomans have captured that time Serbia Saying in this video that Gardoš (the Millennium Tower) commemorates "Hungarian occupation of Serbia" is a very ignorant comment, sorry for saying that.

I would recommend Ethnographic museum in Belgrade, near Kalemegdan, it has great clothes and jewelry... and for shopping, so many boutiques.... and you forgot what ppl who dont have money do - did you check all the park benches in Belgrade? so romantic... and you forgot BUREK with yogurt! burek is basically pastry stuffed with cheese etc....... and PITA yum pies with .. cherries, apples, cheese, ... and PROJA corn bread with cheese inside.... and as for meat yea but also there are veggies and veggie dishes and they are amazing.. seems like you didnt meet KAJMAK and feta cheese? And you missed all the PIJACA ie farmers market where ppl buy fresh foods... huge pijaca with live ppl selling at various "booths" I dont know how to say it in Serbian...

You missed this great communist themed bar which is defo worth a visit, "Don't worry, that hard thing in my pocket is a microphone" haha classic!

I have never heard that Serba are "bad" people in the sense of being drug dealers or terrorists. I don't believe they are portrayed that way in what Serbs call "the West." It is true, however, that they are often regarded as homophobes. I wonder if Serbs really are as homophobic as their reputation suggests?

Yet as a Serb in Western Europe for the past 17 years I have always been reminded on daily basis that I’m subordinate rase ( and non white) especially by British. I have been so humiliated that I have been permanently scarred. And there we go Brits, Americans and others Irish for example turn up in Belgrade and we are so friendly. Aaa really touching.
