Henry! Thank you for teaching us such valuable lessons. I want to share with you surfshark doesn't support mailfence email addresses when signing up via their website. Keep up the great work. We're all watching you lol. 🥸

Use a personal VPS service, customize logins with keys and ensure logs are not kept
Oh, and change default ports. Not a VPN.

If you want to use windscribe on a router you are required to purchase the Pro version that will REQUIRE you to use a credit card that allows automatic payment commitment BEFORE you can start the service , that will mean you give them your personal real information and allow them to take money from your account without notification first ... other companies do this as well

Geeta video. I learned so much. Do you recommend using a company that provides both a vpn and private email like proton mail and Proton vpn, together?

Here's a question:

Does using a VPN and signing into sites with real details- A) render the VPN useless in this case, or B) actively give companies extra data which they will correlate onto my profile that I should worry about? (i.e. my vpn provider, likely close vpn servers etc).

Corollary- if B) is true- does that also apply for basically any online activity given the omnipresence of tracking, fingerprinting etc?

Great video! Is it dangerous to turn off your VPN for online gaming? considering you need a good ping for videogames. I mainly want my browsing to be private, I don’t really care much about if platforms like steam know my IP.

Question: How do websites which do not require logins know it's still you, despite using different VPNs?

If you live in China you need at least 2 VPNs. Every VPN will get blocked sometimes. Having at least one other gives you the chance of connecting again. If it works in the morning is no guarantee that it'll work in the afternoon!

Just switched on my ProtonVPN killswitch...thanks for that, Henry. Currently I'm using ProtonVPN, ProtonMail, Brave and Signal on my desktop, laptop and Samsung phone. I don't really require a high level of privacy/security, but who knows what the future might bring...Be Prepared, right? An interesting subject for you to explore might be to assess various privacy/security setups and how they might be tweaked for improvement/synergy.

How do i reduce my fingerprint on brave (1 in 5300) so i can use it anonymously with a vpn. Privacy io check told me i only have partial fingerprint protection even after i had set up brave. Also is a vpn useless with java script enabled because of exposing fingerprint?

No email is secure, even Protonmail, all email is sent using unencrypted readable SMTP once it goes from the provider you signed up with to another, ie Protonmail to Gmail. Protonmail is only secured encrypted and safe to another protonmail user.
Thanks for the video have to use everything we can to stay safe these days

If:
-- Privacy and security are paramount...
-- Speed is not critical...
-- Country of origin that your internet activity looks to be coming from is not a factor...

...then use the free and open-source Tor network via the Linux Tails operating system or, perhaps, the Linux Parrot operating system via their Anon Surf feature that wraps all networking over the Tor network.

With Tor, there is:
-- nothing to sign up for.
-- no one to trust for access to the network.

VPNs are simply proxies that you connect to via encryption, and all of your internet activity appears to originate from there. Aside from faster speeds, due to the single hop between you and the VPN service and less network congestion, I am not sure of why anyone would use a less private solution, like a VPN, and incur a cost for that less private solution.

I like the point about use cases. Some people get very irate if your VPN service isn't 100% perfect, even though not all of us need a 100% perfect VPN. There are lots of services out there and it's okay if yours isn't completely anonymous if your intended use isn't to commit cyber crime or hide your thought crimes from a totalitarian state.
