Nick great analysis as usual, I really needed this.
I have reduced my holdings in my 3 fund portfolio of FSGGX from 30% to 10% and increased FXAIX to 70% and left FXNAX at 20%. Best decision I’ve made in a while.
Welcome back Nick!
Glad to see a new video from you.
Good too see you back
ОтветитьGave up intl years ago. No regrets so far.
ОтветитьExactly. This is why I hold the global stock market in market cap weights, as a US investor.
ОтветитьThank you for your video Nick! Very good analysis as always! Personally, I think you are right, there’s no way to time the market, domestically or internationally, that’s why I also diversify holding a global index.
Ответитьthe incoming administration also promised to increase tariffs, deport immigrants, and also "cut federal spending" somehow. I'm not gonna take my chances and I'll continue to invest in VT to reduce single country risk.
ОтветитьSp500 are plenty of international company’s anyway. No need to invest in other countries.
ОтветитьI own VT as a hedge against the uS Dollar. You never know
ОтветитьGood to see you back! You and Strong Man are clearly bought and paid for by the big VT lobby.
ОтветитьI think the benefits of diversifying geographically are continuing to diminish due to globalization, to the point where EXUS is almost exactly correlated. Very wise investors like Boggle and Buffet agree that US is diverse enough. Diverifying has diminishing returns, like everything else. 500 of the top companies in the most diverse econony, with the best political and economic conditions, is more than enough diversification for anyone. If that index is too top heavy for your liking, there are many alternative indexes to solve that.
ОтветитьI think for the average US worker the S&P 500 is fine. If you're a higher income earner with excess to invest then some international diversification is preferred to hedge against country and currency risk.
