I have whatched this movie recently and I liked it, especially due to its historical accuracy. In my opinion, Skarsgard was the most suitable in playing a Viking character.

Why do Vikings always have to be covered in blood and dirt?
Seriously. There’s blood squirting out of them? What was the blood budget for this movie? Did they use a fuel truck to bring it to the set? Fire truck? How many dump trucks of dirt?
I kind of enjoyed seeing Skarsgard naked fighting on the lava fields. I kind of fell in love with him back when he was doing True Blood and played Eric the Viking vampire. He’s a pretty convincing Viking much better than Tarzan. He’s really in his element here. Anya-Taylor Joy hit another home run here too. She’s an extremely convincing character. I’ve always loved Ethan Hawke as a good guy more than a bad guy. Honestly he scares the shit out of me when he’s a bad guy. Nicole Kidman is excellent as always. Her frozen face is a bit disturbing though. What is that? I forgot what it’s called oh year Botox. Too much Botox!

The genius of this film. It avoided macho heroics and even managed to show the uglier side of Viking culture (slavery) while still immersing the viewer in the elemental beauty of Norse myth. I was blown away. And then, it’s also Hamlet. Great film.

The Last Kingdom?

This was the most bizarre movie I've ever watched...my husband felt the same way about it. Somewhat difficult to follow at times, as well. I'm not sure what all the critical acclaim was about.

People talk about how bad Steven Segal movies are. But Segal doesn't spend a hundred million and hire half of hollywoke to turn out his garbage. This should have gone straight to DVD. (I say DVD because no one uses them anymore). The combat scenes are like something between Adam West's Batman and the worst of Birds of Prey, the only thing missing is the "wham", "kapow" text. Nicole Kidman goes full lizard, looking barely human, so nothing new there. I can only assume people's tolerance for half baked garbage and their goldfish like attention spans is how this got any love whatsoever. Terrible movie, just terrible.

the first ten minutes were great. After that he got a haircut, an ugly women take the main part.. and the rest goes down the drain..
