Thoroughly enjoyed the video, but not crazy about the silent treatment. The addition of background noise or music would have been nice.

I have been a big fan of The Tale of Genji and Yamato Waki's art for some time, but haven't seen an English translation. I keep meaning to look for the Japanese, unfortunately, my Japanese is poor and I may not understand the text well. Luckily, I've read much of the novel several times, so I should get it well enough. Thanks for reminding me to resume my search.

I have a copy of The Tale of Genji that I intend to read eventually. I need to be in the right headspace to read an almost 1000 page book and really absorb it!

Also, the artist in this video did a fantastic job and I loved her work.

Thanks for sharing!

it's such a shame that we didnt get to see how Yamato san draws the hair! i watched a interview of hers in which she demonstrate how she colors hair, and it is honestly mind blowing for me. The contorl she has over the pen and the way she creates this glowing effect with such ease (excuse my eng ) is just...perfection.
