I trust Michael Caine when we talk about media encoding
ОтветитьFor 4K HDR blurays, is there a set of video settings you'd recommend for those of us that are a bit more on the videophile side and who enjoy quality checks/comparisons and really want to maximize the video quality? I have plenty of space for my rips, and I'm fine with dropping a 60GB file to ~20GB.
Ответитьwhat is video setting use in encode can i chek from to video
ОтветитьI've used handbrake for years and discovered some weird things....Example. Take a 480p DVD tv series that's interlaced that I want to convert to x264 or x265....In the past I would OFTEN run into jerky frames most noticeable when there was a slow pan or movement...some people might not even notice it but I do...so I did so much experimenting...When I chose the default MKV 480p setting... I always changed the 30 FPS under video to "same as source"... I chose deinterlace default/Yadif/Bob and instead of using constant framerate, I used variable. Wouldn't you think variable would be worse? Yes... but in my testing, I get super smooth motion using variable but if I chose constant that slight jerky frame was there...I always bump the CRF from 20 to 18 too. I don't encode a lot of 1080p stuff though.
ОтветитьI thought deinterlace should be off for progressive video. That's for DVDS.
ОтветитьBut there shouldn't be a need to decomb a modern bluray movie, right?
ОтветитьJust curious, when you said set the Colourspace to BT.709 for devices that can't play HDR media. Will these still play in full HDR on devices that natively support HDR? Or do you only get HDR support by leaving colourspace off?
ОтветитьIf I wanted to still use the (TrueHD)(7.1 Ch) audio track or the DTS-HD MA 7.1 since I'm not too concerned about space but want good audio would you recommend doing 7.1 as an AAC with a Bitrate of either 960 or 1152 and the mixdown to 7.1 with a samplerate of 48? I am not too knowladgeable myself about audio conversion and Im by no means an audiophile. I just want the best audio I can get out of my theater exquipment and I do have a 7.2 Setup with dolby atmos so I didn't really wanna use 5.1 when 7.1 is available to me. Would these settings cause too much of an issue with quality? Maybe a video to do in the future? A 4k H.265 template using the 7.1 Audio Tracks. Your templates are all I use in Handbreak. I have them as presets. So any advice on what settings to use for 7.1 (when available) would be appreciated.
ОтветитьHi, Great video! Congrats and thanks for the info. I knew all the main settings that you related in the video tutorial except the advanced video string that you detailed explain in the description. I have bought by one hand an Intel arc a 380, and by other hand an mini PC Intel n100 12th gen to use them with quicksync to handbrake my videos 4k and 1080p to h265. Does the advanced 4k string will work ok also for 1080p or requires any variation? In that case could you write me the optimum string for 1080p h265 quicksync?
Thanks in advance
What are the meanings of the extra settings pasted into the video tab?
Ответитьi dont have main 10
ОтветитьGreat video! I think it would be worth to add in a future revision that for people using Nvidia graphic cards, changing Video Encoder to H.265 10bit (NVEnc) can greatly reduce encoding times. In my case from over 5 hours (on 8core 16 thread Zen3 CPU) it went down to 28 minutes (RTX 4090). Tried same file on my secondary PC (i7 7700 and RTX 2080) and it took 54 minutes with NVEnc. Huge time and electricity saving on that one :)
Ответитьthank you!! i couldnt find the color space filter by myself.. you are a life saver
ОтветитьHow long did the encoding take?
ОтветитьI don't see all the options you have
ОтветитьMate what a fundamental information! I really appreciate your efforts to share this, it helped me alot. Thank you🙏
ОтветитьI noticed on one of my movies that your audio setting using AC3 lossy audio ended up being a higher file size than using FLAC 16-bit lossless (with all other settings the same). Handbrake can’t pass through PCM but you can use the source PCM with MKVtoolnix after using handbrake. That was about the same file size as using FLAC. Just curious what could be causing the lossy AC3 setting per this video to be higher file size than lossless? I went with lossless in this case for better audio.
Ответитьhello, are the GPU accelerated codecs worthwhile? Also, I have a projector that can support over 100% of the BT.2020 so would it be worth selecting H.265 12-bit?
Ответитьcan i use same settings for converting 4k to 1080p?
ОтветитьBrillant video, keep up the great work.
ОтветитьMy T.V. supports BT.2020, should I choose that instead?
ОтветитьIf you plan on streaming to a surround setup, is it worth going with the passthru audio option? Does that option add more than 1gb to file size?
ОтветитьGreat videos on the encoding with handbrake. Will you be doing videos w/ Shutter Encoder (my personal favorite)?
ОтветитьThanks very much for your tutorial. I wanna know why if my original video come with srt UTF-8... The final result change my sub to ssa format?
ОтветитьI'll test it. Is it possible see the same HDR colour of 4K in MP4 with H.265 codec?
ОтветитьYes, we have been waiting for this video for a while. Finally you bite the bullet (or wallet) i guess :)
I can't wait to encode and archive 4k movies with these settings. I'm starting right now. I have no doubt that the results will be very good.
Let's not wake the chunky fella. Thanks a lot.

If your TV supports both, would you prefer HDR - (HDR10) or DV? Which one do you think gives a better picture with these settings?
