I came across this while searching out of curiousity, and even though this video is about Fire TV Stick, I think this could also work for Fire TV Edition, for those who may have received a TV running the Fire TV software as a gift but want to use it as a basic TV by setting up and then disconnecting the Internet connection after setup, instead of selling it off first to get a TV running a different OS like Android TV or Roku OS (Roku TV).

Its some kind of way they can still charge your debt card, im not sure how they did it. This was several years ago and the processed has changed. Ive setup many dummy accounts. The person i gave the stick to was very very technology illiterate and thought could order anything and its free. Some kind of way amazon charged my debt card. They even confirmed the dummy name i had made up for the account, and i know i didnt put my debt card on that dummy account. I caught hell getting them to credit those chatges because just like you said i couldnt remember the address or phone number i used. I think they used the IP address because i did set it up at my house. Thats the only way i can see them linking that account to my card. But like i said this was probably 3 years or longer ago and the process has changed a couple times since then. Ever since then i have been requiring people to have or create an amazon account. I did one recently on a dummy account because its a trust worthy relative. But going forward...NOPE
