The Nineveh Plains Province should be provided to ALL Iraqi Christians the Indigenous Christians that still speak the same language of Jesus Christ had spoken, which entitles them for at least 10% of Entire Iraq's Oil Revenue (Retroactive) & Proceed, As of now we Declare Iraqi Government, the ruling Government of Iraqi Kurds, the Iraqi Turks etc. they are All to be BLACKLISTED as they are Considered TERRORISTS. We continue to Pray for Almighty GOD To protect, rescue & save the Iraqi Christians.

I have to make my point , this man talks about christians in Iraq and in Iraq there is no safe place to the christians , only Kurdistan hold them especially those who fled from southen and middle of Iraq, secondly why you dont talk about 30 milloin kurds in the middle east which has been froced by the british empire to live in four emnemy countries, and up to today we give lives to that traditional land?????????????? is it fair ? surely isnt.

I have to disagree with your claim of attachment to Mesopotamia, Kurds are native to Anatolia and Iran; Cyaxares was a Mede, not a Kurd; the Medes make up about 20-30% of the Kurdish genetic makeup. Sulaymaniyah isn't Assyrian, it's a Kurdish city built on Assyrian land. Gutians are from Iran as well; again, no ancestral ties; as many early sources about Kurds were that Kurds were nomadic.

This comment is dedicated to ProudKurdistani :) Browsing through the comments, what I find astounding is the amount of pure assumption on both sides, ignorance. I am able to link scholar related articles on this precise topic, not whole ambiguous articles but specific details as to the origins of both the Assyrians & Kurds. Genetically speaking: Kurds are more closely related to Arabs. Hence Assyrians & minor parts of eastern Jordan. How is this possible? Because we are of course THE ASSYRIANS!

The only obstacle for the Assyrians creating a nation is simple but also irritating. The Assyrians need a sole governing body or a back bone in the region as a pure Assyrian controlled town or region, but HOW is the most intolerable religion able to fathom handing even the slightest power to a bunch of people which they deem second class citizens?

The only reason Kurds are were they are today is simple, Islam. Kurdish leaders at the time( especially during 750.A.D) thought it was much more valuable being apart of something which would protect them, completely logical. Assyrian persecution began as early as 8th Century & continues. Consider both Assyrian & Kurdish populations today. Something around 2.5 million to 30 million, respectively. Ask yourself honestly. How different would these statistics be if Assyrians were Muslim?

now that makes no sense... Kurds, Persians, and other Iranian peoples have a huge genetic connection between them; you say you are pre-iranic but that's incorrect; Medes are an iranian people, if you say medes are the main ancestors, then Kurds are Iranian, they weren't Iranified. The earliest existence I read of Kurds was the kingdom of Corduene, which existed JUST below Lake Van. so the current area of Iraq and Syria is not part of the original Kurdistan, Turkey and Iran, as well as Azerbaijan
