Was Battlefield 5 Really THAT Bad?

Yeah this game is garbage, especially compared to the very game that came before it. Don't excuse BF5 because of BF2042. That's called lowering your standards, and when that happens, you will never see anything akin to BF1 or the games before that one ever again. But I have a feeling that 2042 already killed Battlefield so whatevs.

Yes it was and it's still worst Battlefield game ever made. The game itself is total trash , but a TONS of cheating childs of wh9re makes it even worse

Both bf1/bf5 gunplay are way too casual and simplistic compared to bad company 2 and bf3 imo,but I must respectfully disagree with you ender that bf1 is better than bf5(just on the gunplay comparison part,the rest of the bf5 issues you mentioned like hackers,cancel content and what not are all true).
Fun and enjoyment are subjective so to each their own,but bf1's gunplay was probably the worst in any bf game(maybe only bf4 was worse,but that was more due to really shity netcode in additioned to the dumbed down recoil mechanics),it is deffinetly more random and inconsistent than bf5 in my experience.
In bf1 I had so many instances in which my first shot simply isnt registering,dieing behind cover happens a lot more and the game just feel overall more clunky and less smooth than bf5.
Bf5 gunplay is well...basicly just COD...overly simplistic and casual,but atleast somewhat consistent in it's simplicity,you shoot people,they drop instantly and consistently in my experience.
Sure randomly added recoil is not a cool thing,mechanics should be predictable,learnable and thus skillbased I agree,but bf5 has virtualy no recoil to speak of to be honest,a slight twitch to the left or right is barely noticeable in my experience.
Also conquest mode in bf5 is massively supperior to bf1,I can talk about map flow and how shity bf1 map design is compared to bf5,but forget all that,just one word:behemoths.
Possibly the most retarded thing to ever be added in a battlefield game,actively rewarding a team for loosing that alone makes bf1 a joke.
Btw I am no bf5 appologist,I generaly agree that bf5 sucked,just saying bf1 sucked way more :D

I agree, I played the game for 20 mins and then basically gave the game away years ago. Movement, like you said color pallet, looks like shit and feels like shit. Kinda like call of duty, very shitty fake feeling experience. BF5 is a speed shooter.

ea and dice trying to beat cod with new cod !!! this changes making the games more disquasting !!!! i was a cod player but for me after mw2 and bo2 cod for me is dead and disquasting...from the a now i was trying the bf side and i start with 4 then bf1 and now the 5 !!!! i havent event try the 2042....for me my love is bf1...and for me when am playing bf1 i have chills !!! am enjoying the game even if loosing !!!! the way that isnt fast pace for me making the game more enjoyable and even if you are not so so so good to the aim you the way to play it and you can be so usable even if you have 0 kills !!!!

Bf5 is mid if not still bad the bad gunplay the bad gun balancing and the invisibility and the lack of good maps make this game unfun breakthrough is also a clusterfuck it need to be fixed and the attrition as you said is sooo facking bad

Battlefield 1 really was a masterclass in how to make a BF game. Pretty much every aspect in BF1: sound, maps, gameplay etc was tailored to captivate veterans and newcomers. It is essentially THE Battlefield to play. Unfortunately, it was the last and may always be the last great BF, a masterpiece even.

I couldn't agree more. I'm tired of people saying "ohh bf5 is actually good now guys!!!" now that 2042 is out. Imo at this point 2042 is BETTER than 5. Still bad, but not quite as abhorrent as the "game" that is bf5.

bought bf5 after playing bf1 for a long time. Every time i stop my game of bf5 its a bad experice. No memorial time where you breifly rampaged or survived in a shit situation. Those i had in bf1. It felt epic. BF5 feels like a lifeless mix of cod and trying to be historic... then the overdramatic death scene... so cringe.

Really the only people who still play BFV are people trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel due to 2042’s failure, cheaters, vehicle mains, and rats who continue to take advantage of limited health regen.

Infantry play in BFV is 20 times worse due to limited health regen. Anything you basically do you’re punished. I can’t imagine spending over a hundred hours on this game with how awful this system is unless it was literally your job to put content out on the game. There’s just no excuse for a game like this to be this abhorrent and yet still have thousands of freaks according to player charts. Like they have got to be the strangest players you’ve ever met, I legitimately cannot get behind it.

Nah dont agree with some stuff, the gun play for me I like it, i dont need your game clinic 24/7 sigma grind mentality explanation, i was able to control all my shots with the recoil, bullets would go where you aim and at distance it rewards who is able to stabilize the gun first, bf1 fristrated me with the random bullet deviation a lot of people hated that system too

Bf5 was fun and good and it wasn’t cancelled because it was bad it was cancelled because it they were working on bf2042 same reason battlefront 2 another great game was cancelled then you also have to put into consideration that the game had its lifecycle just because it was live service doesn’t mean it was going to go on for years it had the same amount of time as all the other games it sounds like we got a battlefield 3/4 crackhead here longing for the days to return to battlefield 3 and 4

Battlefield 5 has the best movement, gunplay and destruction of any casual shooter in my opinion.
Due to the reduced visibility and the new healing system, Battlefield 5 was a little slower in pace and a little more tactical

Tbh ive been saying bfv aint that bad since it came out, but i did only ever snipe and pilot so i personally didnt notice 90% of the problems people had. I did like vehicles having to resupply ammo. Health not so much. Visibility was bad, but it shouldve never been a problem in the first place, dont know y they didnt just reskin bf1 to keep the same visuals. My biggest complaint throughout: where tf is my 8x scope and m1903. M1903 is a classic ww2 rifle, and in every single bf ive always used the 8x, now i have to adapt unnecessarily. Movement was my favorite in the franchise. Crouch running, prone stances were some of my favorite features and wish every game had em. Squad wide "scorestreaks" were also awesome, finally something to incentivise booger eaters to do some squad play. Reinforcements like the sand bags and tank traps were awesome too.

Holy shit, I thought it was just me but I can't see fucking anyone in this game. I recently came back to BFV because I had fond memories when I was playing 2042. Holy shit was I wrong. The games balance is dogshit, especially when it came to weaponry. Certain weapons just destroy compared to others. The non-healing. The incredibly sus players (I played when there was a ton of cheaters and I'm sure they are still there). Yeah, I thought the game was good but after coming back to it, I had literally the most frustrating unfun time I think I've had in modern gaming.

I finally tried it recently and it was the first time in my life I ever got a game refunded (I'm usually pretty sure of myself when I buy stuff). It is a festering pile of shit and doesn't deserve a single minute of your time.

My main issue with bf 1 and 5 is all the iron sights actual sights holos and scopes are all bad I’m not accurate unless I have some good sights

Bf5 was horrible. I remember the launch being so underwhelming. There was barely any hype for it, and although I also didn’t like bf1, it still felt like a downgrade. Bf5 didn’t do anything well: gunplay got downgraded, graphics/atmosphere was downgraded, TTK changes literally NO ONE asked for. One of the most bland/boring/casual bf games ever released imo.

BFV is my first time playing battlefield since i was a boy playing bad co 2, i really truly appreciate this game, especially after trying to play 2042, which doesnt necessarily mean bfv is good because 2042 is bad, and i agree with almost everything youve said about its issues, but to me its special, I joined into the game way after most of the issues you listed, but even so i can still see the flaws, however to me it is very enjoyable and the hacking is a but annoying if not comical at times, its few and far between now

I noticed that about the recoil that’s why I always tap at range and full auto mid close range (hip)
