Some aspects of this are actually quite accurate. I had been hospitalized for Anorexia Nervosa and almost died. I had fluids pumped into me, with a BMI of under 14 and still was able to refuse proper and official long term treatment.

She is clearly not of sound mind and is a clear and present danger to herself. An injunction shouldn't have mattered here

The first thing that came to mind was Eugenia Cooney.

When she started screaming and panicking when the food was going through the tube... I felt that. I truly felt that. I wouldn't wish this hell upon anyone.

Everyone should have the right to refuse treatment. It's her choice. She's not a child. Sometimes our choices make a few people sad, but it's our right, I'm not talking only about life and death decisions. Sometimes you'll break your parents' hearts by marrying an abusive partner for example, but you're still allowed to do it. Smoking is slowly killing yourself and it's fully legal for adults.

I'm sorry if I'll offend someone, but... can somebody explain how people get themselves into this state? As far as I know, they don't eat for a very long time and refuse any food, but... don't they feel awful during that time? (when I didn't it for half a day, I felt a little dizzy and my stomach hurt, so I can't imagine someone forcing themselves to go through this. And for what?! For looking like skeleton with skin and hair and eventually dying?!)

I have been struggling with anorexia/ bullmia for 6 years now and I'm starting to find it hard to get out of bed although I don't struggling with bullmia anymore
I'm still struggling with my anorexia and unfortunately I feel stuck in my eating disorder. Hopefully things will get better but I'm not sure

Whenever I get triggered when I eat too much, I always watch this to remind me that I cannot go down this path. I’ve always wanted to purge and not eat anything so bad, so that I think I’m beautiful and thin, but I know that it’s stupid.

Im not a medical expert but why did they push for so many calories in one go? Isnt it better to go slowly and steady then go fast and risking an even higher change of no going back? Someone please explain!

My anorexia rly fucked me up now I'm fine doing better everyday ... n what's also the sad thing that I thought I will get better After being exited going to the therapy in the end she started to Force me every Sunday to weigh myself n she said she will never stop going to her till I reach what weight she wanted me to be First i am trumatized when I see the scale soooo scared this year in school checkup they weight us i didn't see the scale I was sobbing praying that no one will notice n I stayed the last one on purpose just that no one will see how much I weight lied to everyone when they asked about my weight so i ended up going outside of the class alone just to rewind

It's funny a obese doctor saying 'anorexia is actually the most deadly mental illness', just go google the facts and the rates anorexia VS obesity and take the conclusion. As Lucille Bluth would say 'I don't criticize you. And if you worried about criticism...Sometimes a diet is the best defense'

As a anorexic myself knowing that when it comes to being at this point there is no will to live or to recover. Death was the easiest way for her to be at peace

At this point they should just admit her as suicidal or call a DNR if she is at the point where she will forcefully refuse treatment

You could see that dr Choi cared about her, he was worried about her health, not in a medical way but he personally cared, something you don't see alot from him. He tries to keep professional

If the parents really tried to help her they would. In most cases the cause are the parents/parental figures.

5'6 and 70 pounds means she has a bmi of 11.3, and most people will be incompatible with life when they're in the ranges of 12. For people who had been in a edtwt or proana community, you'll know that 11.3 bmi is at the skinny side of the bonespo group, even in a group with such unrealistic standards.

People who doesn't listen to the doctor, is not our fault to deal with it. If they don't listen, they might can't stay alive. That's why you can't do that

My friend had bulimia really bad for 3 years. We were able to convince her to get help. She is doing wonderful today and looks great

People with anorexia are defective, they should be denied any medical care. They are a waste of resources since they are actively killing themselves. The sooner they die the more happy they are. This is their life's path, their happyness. Dying pure
