I went through cat 4 hurricane Emily, in the Ball room of the Hilton hotel. The next morning, the ocean where you swim was stripped of sand and was just rock. Anyone know the beach situation, there? I know its not the Hilton anymore. Thanks....

The beach and the waters of the Caribbean Sea are really the finest in the world. I am not sure how Cancun would compare to French Polynesia or the Maldives. But Cancun, Mexico is definitely one of the best, if not the best in the whole world. I heard the water is really warm, and there is really amazing roundness or silkiness about it…. If someone has been to Bora Bora or any of the French Polynesia, please let me how do they compare to Cancun!🙏Thank you in advance

Back in the early 90's, the hotel zone was very Americanized; KFC, Domino's pizzas, Dunkin Donuts, Denny's etc, very sad there's no quaint Mexican restaurants or Artists selling their crafts or local music in that area. $20. USD is really cheap for what you ate at Senior Frogs. And sadly, military are walking the streets and beaches because of the past violence in the last few years towards tourists and beach visitors.
