The reason an Irish man could understand the native people was with reference to a book titled " The White Savage " was previously the period of the film by about 5o years the native Irish had lost ownership of their own lands to about 5% some changed relegion ie Catholic to Protestant to achieve some status eg Governor of the colonies but nevertheless understood what the native Americans were experiencing to some extent hence remarks " as an Irishman etc" old world meets new world!Leave comments no censorship.
ОтветитьHer voice didn’t suit the era..🤷♀️
Ответитьand make it West - yes :)
ОтветитьThey killed the red Indians and captured their land.
ОтветитьIf this generation only had a clue of the courage it took and the thousands of lives lost to make this country and our Constitution, freedom and liberty for all. Great movie!
ОтветитьWhere halal freedom dwells, there is my land ❤
Ответитьthe gentlemen are dead.
ОтветитьDid you know that Gary Cooper is Sheldon Cooper's grandma from th Big Bang Theory?
ОтветитьGARY COOPER, EL MÁS LINDO!😍😚❤
Ответить"That red hair could change a man's mind". Love that line. Those dam redheads.
ОтветитьThis movie is so epically bad it's actually fun. Terrible direction, corny dialogue , stagey sets, and really bad acting , even from Cooper but especially from Goddard. But she does get tied up a lot and keeps getting her clothes ripped, which is the best part of the movie. And all the extras speaking with a Brooklyn accent is an extra touch of awesomeness.
ОтветитьI want to say something again about Paulette Goddard she's play two movies next to Charlie Chaplin one was modern times and second was the great dictator
ОтветитьWow, what a great movie! I can't believe I've somehow missed this movie for all these years. Hollywood doesn't make great movies like this anymore.
ОтветитьI live in far western part (Mercer Cty) of Pennsylvania. Every time I've traveled from one end to the other on US RT80 and view the hills along the way, I wonder how difficult it must have been for the early American settlers to travel. Then I learned that the native tribes had a system of trails. That helped the settlers in their travels, but it still must have been a hard, long road to go.
ОтветитьBritish Debt Slave's its now PrisonPlanet 😂
ОтветитьEmerita cazzata inguardabile. Alla fine, gli indiani sono sempre i selvaggi brutti e cattivi. Strano che alla rossa abbiano lasciato almeno la sottana. Povera Hollywood, come sei caduta in basso.
Ответить❤😊😊
ОтветитьVery based movie. Interesting that before society got woke-ified, the fact that slavery was NEVER about race UNTIL it became a manipulated ideology to target first world civilization. Can facts change? No.
ОтветитьBrigitte Colletti Mancini
ОтветитьBlurry🧐🧐🧐🙈
ОтветитьWhen the Black Watch showed up Bagpipes blaring this Halfbreed Native American Celt was alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll Scottish Alba Gu Brath!!!! Awesome.
ОтветитьINDENTURED SERVITUDE It's just slavery with nice words! Call a horrible thing by a nice word and any fool will believe it's not that bad! Here's a few facts the SJWs don't tell you about INDENTURED SERVANTS
(1) The English & French regularly sentenced petty criminals to indentured servitude.
(2) crimes that could get you sentenced.. petty theft, poaching the kings deer, public drunkenness, not paying your taxes, not being able to pay your taxes aka your Poor. Assault, being Catholic and owning a Horse worth more than 5 pounds, being Catholic and having a weapon on your person. Being Catholic and not bowing getting out of the way of a non Catholic when they passed you on the road. Just being Catholic.
(3) indentured servants were not just sentenced to a few years if they displeased their owners their sentence could be extended even to the point of death.
(4) The Irish and Scottish Highlanders from rebellious regions were most often sentenced to it, they called it TRAVELING and most people sentenced were innocent the government just wanted to get rid of them and sending them to the New World was seen as a great use as they would either survive and serve society or Die.
(5) people sentenced to indentured servitude aka Traveling were transported in Chains and locked in the brig of a ship usually a Cage, they were often stuffed so tightly that they couldn't lie or sit down the entirety of the trip.
(6) people sentenced to indentured servitude were given a choice before leaving the old country to be executed by hanging because it was often seen as a death sentence.
SOUNDS LIKE SLAVERY TO ME !!!!!!
The Movie is historically set around or pre or post? French & Indian & Canadians vs the English Wars prior to the War of US Independence & War of 1812 with Colonel George Washington's
ОтветитьEn français
ОтветитьAfter the waterfall, where did he get that rifle? A bit silly plot, politically incorrect.

ОтветитьWHAT a movie!! I came across by happenstance and I'm so glad I did. Gary Cooper is one of my favorites.
ОтветитьFantastic movie
ОтветитьI saw this about 1970 when I was about 10-12.
ОтветитьBoris Karlof played a pretty good Indian.
ОтветитьGary Cooper was John Wayne before John Wayne was John Wayne.
ОтветитьAmericans invading again
ОтветитьMe gusta la película , pero prefiero doblada al castellano
ОтветитьGreat movie made in the days when it was permissible for a Hollywood script and actors to speak of God with reverance.
Ответить".....even at the cost of their own lives..." Ironic seeing how colonizers committed genocide to the Native population.
ОтветитьMy Mother says..."I have watched this movie I don't know how many times & it touches me every single time I watch it. They do not have the love for this country as they did back then. This is what I miss most about todays times". I agree with Her & w/many posts of the quality & integrity of the writers & the performers. I've seen this several times...loved it every time too. The writers of today cannot ever create a movie of this maturity & quality. I love the way Men & Women used to interact & treat each other in the true golden years of Hollywood. IMHO. If you are like Me one who likes reading comments before watching get your favorite snack & drink(s).....especially get the family together & enjoy having a night well spent....!!!!
Ответить❤️👌
ОтветитьBoris Karloff is playing an Indian. And Loyd Bridges as an extra. lol!
ОтветитьA movie like this couldn't be made today. And there's the saddness!-
