can we use 5w40 or 0w40 instead of 20w40. i'm from india- the normal temp is 30 C
ОтветитьCan I use 20w40 in replace of 10w30 any effect in engine?
Ответить👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьThanks for the clarification...👍😉
ОтветитьAnd that's why you have to wait until the engine is warmed up (actually the oil) before driving !

Good Morning, Thank you very much for this video, but i have a serious question: if viscosity is a motion resistance, this means that the higher this number is, the more resistance the oil will have. But if this is true, shouldn't we change the position of numbers? What i mean is, if we take a 10W40, in cool conditions we have a 10 of viscosity, so less resistance, but this has no sense, because the warmer the oil is the lower the viscosity should be, because there is less resistance. How could you explain this?
ОтветитьThank you for this. Very informative
Ответитьhow much celcius degree when cold ?
ОтветитьThank you very much, sir! 5W 30 is better to use during winter and 5W 20 during summer is how it works? Thanks.
ОтветитьThank you for this information. Very useful.
ОтветитьExcellent explanation
ОтветитьGreat Professor🙏
ОтветитьA quick question. I live in Spain were the temperitire can go from 5oC to 45oC, but my friend who has the same car in UK has temps of -5 to 30oC.Question is, how much does outdoor temperature effect car oils?
ОтветитьBrilliant video. Does the viscosity change with age, ie as the oil gets dirtier (carbon etc), does this change the viscosity of the oil and therefore makes it dangerous to the life of your engine? And of course , i assume this is the reason for regular need to change oil & Filter?
ОтветитьThank you sir.
ОтветитьWeek 27
Skoda Octavia 2009
Oil 10w - 30
Great explanation, always follow the manufacturer oil specification for your engine 👍
ОтветитьI like your accent 🙂
ОтветитьThese numbers use different testing methods to be determined the w number represents a dynamic viscosity the last number represents the kinetic viscosity of the oil , so you cannot compare them with each other because they are not related
ОтветитьWhat is SAE J639? I found it in my BMW X5. Thank you!
ОтветитьWhich is better for car
ОтветитьBest video ever ... He made it so easy to understand .. thankyou so much sir
ОтветитьClear! Thanks!
ОтветитьI had always kind of thought that say, 5w-30 lubricated bearing clearances from 5/1000 to 30/1000 as well as flow ability in reference to viscosity and temperature. Is there any truth to this ?
ОтветитьKill the background music, otherwise good video.
ОтветитьThanks now tell us about low ash etc, oils for diesels. Please.
ОтветитьHow viscous in a visual representation is each number grade?
How much does it thin out between 5w30 and 5w40
My car is weird because the manual says 10w40 but I get recommendations for my car for it to be 5w40... When my car was serviced they put 5w40 in it and it's running fine. Don't know if it's because the car is older now.
ОтветитьExcellent video. Thanks.
ОтветитьExcellent
ОтветитьWhy didn’t I learn this in school??? 🤷♂️
ОтветитьVery confusing. Itximplies thet when the temperature increases viscosity increases. Hence for 0W20. This oil has a zero viscosity when cool. Viscosity of Zero does not exist.
ОтветитьSo basically what your saying is you can use 10- 30 on pretty much any machine
ОтветитьEfficient and packed with information 👏👏👏
ОтветитьWhat's the temperature of the lower number?
ОтветитьCheers mate 👍
ОтветитьGreat video 👍
ОтветитьSome high performance engines require an SAE 0W-40. Fast lubrication at cold start and thick oil film at high operating temp.
ОтветитьI have Ford Fiesta classic 2012 model .1,20,000 running . 5W-20 , 15W-40 or 5W-30 which engine oil is suitable For diesel car in Indian climate .
ОтветитьVery ideal for lubricating variometers, volume controllers, brightness controllers.
ОтветитьBut...if the oil it's cool how it's thinner than when it's hot??? ..5 sae when cool and 30 sae (thicker)???
This video it's all wrong.
The first number refers to how much low temperature the oil can withstand in order to be effective and the second number refers to how thicker will be at 100c..
Good video but the winter viscosity is tested at -40F/C:
0W will give protection down to -40F/C
5W will give protection down to 0F/-18C
10W will give protection down to 32F/0C

ОтветитьIt’s hard to understand because the physics don’t back it up. Yes we understand that the hotter it gets the thinner it becomes. And the colder it gets the thicker. And yes that’s what we observe: the you applied. Which what makes the numbers not make sense. If they claim that the higher the number the more viscosity it has. Which means that the oil on a 5w-30 when the oil is really cold should be almost like water. Because 5 is lower than 30 right and then when that oil hits the 100 temperature then it should feel like normal oil. Because the viscosity increase.
ОтветитьSo the viscometer measures viscosity? In which measure unit? What do americans use to measure viscosity? Does the different behaviour at different temperature implies a not-newtonian viscosity?
Ответитьthanks😁👌
ОтветитьExcellent sir, thank you!
Ответитьwhat is the unit for viscosity?
