ОтветитьAwesome heart warming interview 👌💖🙏
ОтветитьScott gracias por esta entrevista a Justin el es para mi uno de los más completos en el bajo mundial de los primeros
ОтветитьI needed this today As a beginner and an interest in gospel bass tho uits composed of many genre styles
Ответитьanytime a bass player or drummer plays 16th notes or faster on a Gospel song (r almost any song) for longer than a half of a bar, you are not serving the music, you are showing off. I know this as fact, because i do it allllll the time.
ОтветитьSuch a great interview from a Great Musician. Man that bass sounds amazing...
ОтветитьWow, amazing talent❤ shout out from Philippines
ОтветитьQuestion that 5 string is a B-G or E-C ?
ОтветитьLove Justin man. One of my favorite bassists, but you guys also have to get Thaddeus Tribbett on here 🔥
ОтветитьWhat a FANTASTIC find!!! I didn't know who Justin was by name, but You started the video with my favorite song 'Rejoice' and I finally got to learn who played it and enjoyed the entire video. Didn't have time to watch it all but literally couldn't turn it off. How inspiring and motivating! THANK YOU SCOTT, IAN AND JUSTIN!!! 🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьAnswer in short: in the Black church and our gospel music, the chord changes, inversions and progressions are PART of the worship, and movement is welcome.
ОтветитьI feel like the pocket is to always land on that "1". Or always land on the next note progression.
ОтветитьPractice, practice, practice. Great interview, great advice 😎🖖
Ответить🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ответитьthanks for sharing. ❤i really learnt a lot.
ОтветитьThat lick! Is it from " The Good The Bad and the Ugly?"
ОтветитьSo nice I watched twice. Today I am watching his hands 🙌 I also need to learn everything… I been playing blind for 30 years guitar and bass. I need to study every mode in every key. Scales… I used to play covers with tabs 15 years ago I stopped and just played me making up stuff.. I have gone as far as I can go winging it. Btw how I got started playing (not that anyone asked or cares) I saw Nirvana unplugged on 📺 when I was 10 my dad had an acoustic guitar and I had a vhs tape! I would pause rewind go back use my ears and that was me at 10 years old! Because I had seen videos on MTV of AC/DC Metallica Guns N’ Roses and thought to myself these guys are loaded with cocaine I’m never gonna be able to do that ! I knew that at 10 years old. (we were different kids back then) I saw Nirvana Kurt playing acoustic I was like 😮I can do that! 😂 anyhow sorry for the history lesson but I’m going old school today watching his hands and gonna look for other videos of JRaines and close ups and then probably get some lessons on scales theory. Just hit it hard the rest of this year and next year…Addendum: let me make this comment longer because I can I’m gonna check out New Breed and Israel houghton (I’m not a speller I’m a musician) I am a new fan of this man! Justin Raines bringing solidarity back to the name Justin in music. The name Justin comes from justice… I could drone on and on.
ОтветитьThis is nuts! I’m planning on getting a fretless bass Ibanez srf706 that’s why I’ve been watching so many bass vids equipment vids… Anyway the weird part is because the bassist at my church plays an upright bass and I love that sound. So full circle ⭕️ here’s another example of a church bassist inspiring me to push the envelope try harder different techniques equipment… It’s a blessing. Thanks for this video! ❤
ОтветитьGospel music is a cultural thing... Born in gospel music and not a copy version... born in gospel or not.
ОтветитьHonest and humble professional
ОтветитьBlown away man.... 😮... great stuff!
ОтветитьThank you Scott and Ian, Beautiful interview !
ОтветитьThank you Justin for explaining yourself plain and simple, I loved it from beginning to end thank you
ОтветитьI wonder what type of string bass that he's using.. Any info?
ОтветитьBeen waiting for some gospel insight ❤

ОтветитьPure gold. Esto es oro puro. Muchas gracias por compartir este conocimiento. Saludos desde Costa Rica! Muchas gracias.
ОтветитьWhat a valuable dialog and information filled interview - bravo Justin, Scott and Ian. Thank you!
ОтветитьThe pocked concept: Really means 'Whatever Rif that you apply must be a perfect fit to the music patern or body of the theme... That is what is ment about the phrase {Jamming}!!!
God Bless.
The pocket is the body of the song. Another point is Who you are playing with.... and The level of thier playing. They can restrict your playing or enhance your playing..... So know that You are Blessed with whom you are playing with.... I have been playing for 52 years. God Bless
ОтветитьI’m a 30 year old man Just trying to learn bass. Got one this past weekend and been watching videos and videos. It does feel a bit overwhelming going from someone who doesn’t know anything… to try and learn so much. Is there a good video or maybe a good tip that would be for beginner beginners.. trying to learn the fret board and keys and tempo all is just a lot. I’m having a blast! And won’t give up. I’m praying overtime it’ll be better lol but this interview was amazing. Like I guess is it better to pick a song. Practice reading the notes or tabs of that song and master that. And move on to more? Or better to do exercises.. idk just kind of lost.
ОтветитьJustin's fingers look like they come of the Face Hugger from Alien. Certainly his fret reach is! What a nice guy!
ОтветитьMane that double tump technique🤌🤌🤌👌👌👌👌
ОтветитьJustin read that. I don't understand what that plaing has in common with praising God... I know Justin has good intentions but that's not what is pleasant to the Holy Ghost. Consider that God says in the Bible men should not even have long hair. Serving the Lord looking like that? The playing can't be a blessing from the vessel that's not right? Think of it
ОтветитьWow!
