TextNow: 4 Months Later - Is It Worth It?

Are you able to track a textnow cellphone from another phone? I'm looking to give this to my kid and track them using google map. Kid have textnow phone and I track them with my phone.

Seems cheaper to go with T-Mobile connect plan for $15.00 unlimited Talk and Text plus 5gb of data. StraightTalk has a Moto Edge 5G 2024 for free if you purchase their $45.00 Silver Plan.

Will this work in car android radio (head unit) that can take sim card (data for google maps navigation only)
Also just to make sure I understand this well, I'll buy $5 SIM and that sim will supply free monthly data no more payments? ( now the limit is 350MB)Thanks
