Things are different now the law should be abolished I don't think it should have been created in the first place I'm surprised that one of my favorite car brands (Mercedes-Benz) got the government to make that law all of those old cars would definitely help the used car market.

This pathetic law only applies to imported Japanese cars.

You can get the most polluting, unsafe car made in China of all places and it could still be legally imported into the United States and you can legally register it.

It wasn't about safety.

Oh so because some douchebags in our government couldn’t manage our taxes well enough I will never get to own some of the greatest cars ever.. The US will allow an auto maker to build some outlandish 7.0L V8 that guzzles gas but we couldn’t have the AE86.. bunch of fucking nerds if you ask me
