Wish you had tested thin metal, like electrical panels. That said, I expect similar results to the "mild steel" test, just a smaller spread. Also important is the life of the hole saw, which we never got a feel for.
ОтветитьPlease can you test Bahco brand?
Ответитьconsidering they all literally came from the same chinese factory and were simply rebranded, neither. buy usa made, there are only two
ОтветитьYou should’ve tested life on how many holes they could drill in the mild steel. That would give real life advice
ОтветитьDid you review hole Hawgs? you should thanks!
ОтветитьStarrett? 😢
ОтветитьAR500 is Abrasion Resistant steel--not armor plate.
ОтветитьThank you . I do appreciate your time and effort. It saves me time and money.
ОтветитьWould be very nice to see a similar review of diamond hole saws for ceramics or glass
Ответить❤
ОтветитьI appreciate how informative and direct your videos are, no time wasting. Most other channels I have to speed the video up
ОтветитьOn the knife steel, was the steel hardened?
ОтветитьYo dewalt saying its a ok to impact a hole saw is crazy 😭
ОтветитьFor me, the quality of the hole surfaces, and least post drill manual effort matters the most . Especially on plastic
ОтветитьNot sure if I missed the vote watching this 3 years after, but would love to see how Hercules stacks up. I just noticed that they have a couple carbide inserted hole saws in addition to their bi metal. Love your stuff PF!
ОтветитьMade in USA, (but with Global materials...in other words...made in China.. this ticks me off, trying to spin doctor their products.. shameful. Pez
Ответитьtry italian Kryno.
ОтветитьThose bits designed for the impact driver would probably work better with an impact driver.
ОтветитьThe real test is how hard they are to take apart after drilling a hole.
ОтветитьI would like to see a hole saw test with cutting oil, water soluble coolant, and just water. I'm a big fan of water on hole saws, just wondering if I'm all wet.
ОтветитьI realize this video was from 3 years ago but in case you still get the comments a problem I had with this was the drill press was stopping or hesitating which is not good for a cutting tool and the tools without the pilot are not designed for a sloppy spindle because the carbide is harder and more brittle you can't have a lot of vibration. Also I found it strange that a number of the carbide tools could not finish the armor plate and the carbide was still in reasonable condition. Speeds and feeds and sloppy spindle may have played a part.
ОтветитьCan you try this test but with other materials like wood which is how I use my hole saw?
ОтветитьAny chance of a revisit with Kata?
ОтветитьCan you please suggest best hole saw for drill carbon steel 10 mm thickness
ОтветитьIrwin $8.4 seems the best choice, cheap and reliable
ОтветитьThe 40% faster bits are really made to make quicker work of light duty materials and reduces binding and teeth snapping on sheet metal, that is the application it is for, using it for heavy duty materials the teeth just get too hot too fast and they loose temper and burn out.
ОтветитьI needed to cut a 1 inch hole in mild steel channel iron o my car trailer. I watched the Project Farm video to select a brand. I could not find the brand I wanted but I was able to get the Diablo saw at Homeless Depot. Thanks PF!!!! The saw made it thru the steel with a hand held drill in less than three minutes. I had to hold it in an awkward position with limited visibility. I backed off the RPM and pressed maybe 15-20 lbs weight on bit. I was thrilled and delighted that it cut a hole so easily. Thanks for the video… it saved me so much trial & error time. Now I can new trailer light wiring.
ОтветитьThis is an interesting, yet awesome video. I do a lot of different test in the automotive world. I clicked on this video to see what the difference would be on these hole saws. Interesting results. Thank you for your awesome testing.
ОтветитьThank You so much for the "find past videos" catalog, extremely helpful.
ОтветитьI use a 1" hole saw on metal quite frequently at work and some times I am forced to go at a slight angle which is hard on the pilot bits. The lennox pilot bits bend if you sneeze on them. The diablo bit holds up better and the milwaukee hole dozer holds up the longest with the type of abuse I put mine through.
ОтветитьCan you do a masonry hole saw comparison?
ОтветитьToo much unnecessary information. Would've been better, if just said: which one is the best?
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьHole saw 's , for cutting metal,..but, I use it for woods .
ОтветитьVery informative video. I want to drill 24mm & 30mm holes in a 20gauge still enclosure, what hole saw do you recommend?
ОтветитьDoors and joists are probably what most people are using these for. So really, it’s starting, how many layers you can go through, and getting the stupid wood plug out of the holesaw .
ОтветитьThanks for this video, was just shopping around for a hole saw to cut into sheet metal.
ОтветитьThe lower the flute count, the faster I needs to spin. I would have liked to see the higher end 4 tooth carbide hole saws and 2-3x the rpm on the mild steel.
ОтветитьEven when dewalt clearly beats Milwaukee you dont want to give them that credit 🙄😅 your bias towards Milwaukee is very evident. Im not even a Dewalt fan but im not a Milwaukee fan either but i feel like it makes your videos less objective and more subjective.
ОтветитьDamn. No spyder
ОтветитьThey all look pretty
ОтветитьFrom today on they shall be known as: circle saws
ОтветитьAnother GREAT VIDEO! Thank you!
ОтветитьI was on the edge deciding on diablo lenox or milwaukee i guess ill buy me diablos i wanna use them for notching tubes i wonder how the outer cutting edge corners will hold up when i do angled notches on stainless exhaust tubing i’ll post the condition that they’re in after a couple of projects here if I remember lol
ОтветитьThanks for the great content!
I was wondering if you could include some "wobble" or runout test next time. I use hole saws for notching thin (0.7 to 0.9mm) tubing and find that there are some with quite some wobble that make less precise cuts.
Please, Please, Please do a wood hole saw!!! 2 inch or bigger. Thank You
ОтветитьI smell a rat , Please explain to me why a Starrett hole saw was never used ( biggest hole saw brand going )
ОтветитьWould like to see a test to see how many holes your top 3 or 4 hole saws can do on mild steel before they give up the ghost.
Thank You
Mike
