How To Update Your ASUS Motherboard BIOS(Simple)

Best guide ever.

Hi. I have a problem that the CAP.file is renamed in vain. When I try to update it, it says "unsupported bios file. Motherboard: Asus Crosshair VIII Hero WI-FI.
Old bios ver: 4304 new ver:4702.
I also formatted the flash drive. What could be the problem?

I know you're typically NOT supposed to update a BiOS with all the components still "plugged" in Processor, ram, SSD's, etc Can you leave everything in place when updating the BiOS???

Just wish I knew why I blue screen from increasing my ram speed for 2133 to 3600

It's my first time updating my bios, will it result to bad outcomes? I've been wanting to remap my memory due to the fact that my pc can't read all of my ram. My pc asus bios version is wayyy back from 2014, I really need some reassurance before I update it. Please help haha.

Hoping this fixes my issue. Brand new set up, new everything. Only one ram slot works for ddr5 motherboard. Im on bios (old) 0702, the one im currently gonna do after this video is 1601

Black screen after updating bios no bios option no launch nothing but a bunch of errors ,very poorly finished video ,you couldve spent maybe 30 seconds explaining what you were doing at the end and could have gone more in depth on what you were doing

I updated my bios and my monitors won't turn on after installing. Shutting my PC off and on fixes it but won't my PC become a brick if I power off while installing the bios

I downloaded the bios but it says that it's unsupported. What do I do, please? I couldn't find the BIOS on my ASUS support page so I tried downloading from somewhere else. I can't use the USB port to do it since the main reason I'm doing this update is to fix my USB ports.

My Vivobook 15 X540NA is using Version 301, can I jump straight to Version 3.20.0001 for windows 8? It is not seeing the USB Flash in BIOS as an Boot device.

Should I be worried? I’ve been downloading the bios update for 30 minutes to an hour and no progress.

Remember to remove the usb after the bios is installed

Thanks for the video. You did a bunch of jumping at the end and did not explain SMP setting. Not sure where you went as you clicked multiple menus, backtracked, and didn't explain. So after I update bios, not sure you did as it appeared you didn't go to the flash drive, what needs to be done? I can only guess there is something else as you mentioned SMP.

hey bud when you mean a flash drive does it gotta have lights on the usb or can it have no lights and also when i installed the latest bios it messed up my pc everything looks less sharps and pixelated especially in gaming my textures will load right in front of my face and some pixels are vibrating and shimmery i dont know what to do i tried all the bios version no luck any suggestions ?

I downloaded the latest bios for asus 1030 and I’m currently on bios 0811 but when I try to update its telling me bios not a proper bios. Any suggestions ?
