Good work pal
Ответитьgot some really good tips there mate, i was plastering for over 50 years, and i still do a bit now I’m in my 70s , keep up the good work
ОтветитьScrews every 150mm on ceilings every 300mm on walls 😉
ОтветитьForgot to say loving the vids every day a school day
ОтветитьSome nice tips 👌
ОтветитьVery very cool tips!! The broken-in trowel info is GOLD! Unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way 2yrs ago when I started renovating my newly purchased home and took my hand to some small bits of plastering (brick wall, mind you). I guess the scientist in me told me to break in the trowel so I did. And voilà! SOOOOO much easier!!!
ОтветитьI’ll have to explain the stroke technique to my mrs later, see if she can get the 3 stroke technique in.
ОтветитьI am looking forward to trying these tips out, thank you very much!
ОтветитьGuys am i not listening right or just being stupid. He said a broken in trowel is better than brand new , you want the trowel edge to be razor sharp. Surely a brand new trowel is sharper than a used one ? Feel free to let me know if I’m being a tool !😂
Ответитьgot to show the wife your method start at the top bring it down and back up uses less strokes lol
ОтветитьPluto u ain't the bollocks just talk it
ОтветитьDone level 3 plastering course, been plastering for 7 years though I knew everything. Sometimes had scrim tape left sticking out, and I left it like that.
Telling customers when it drys put lighter onto it, and it burns off 😆.
Thanks again for the tip on scrim tape.
Your corners are nice but a corner trowel is perfection, my corner trowel does not leave marks on either wall and defo doesn’t slow me down because more time I’m waiting for the wall to pick up, but that’s just my 2 cents
ОтветитьGreat vid . 32 years on the trowel , trust me I’ve learnt to lay on with 1 stroke . 👍👍keeps all the aches and pains at bay 😉😉👍
Ответить18 years plastering and anyone who's new to plastering listen to this fella he speaks the truth ,funny and knowledgeable .
Ajs plastering colour rend wrexham
Hi Kirk, we always worked from the mixing tub (as opposed to a spot board) and used a gauger/bucket trowel to load our hand board up, each load = 3 x scoops of the trowel into the bucket. A plasterer called “johnno” from Preston gave us a plastic “horse feed scoop” (a few £s off eBay) never looked back one scoop perfect to fill hand board cut loading it by two thirds! Still need a gauger to scrape bucket. Believe me well worth a try!
Great channel bud👍
🤣🤣🤣👏🏽
ОтветитьThanks Bro 👊🏽👳🏽♂️
ОтветитьCheers Kirk loving all the tips mate,I don’t do much plastering but when I do I love it.
ОтветитьSubscribed 👍🏻
ОтветитьI use one stroke
ОтветитьMaster
ОтветитьDone bits of plastering over the years, and I have never got the hang of laying on in both directions!
ОтветитьYou are the man love it
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI have to say that you have shown me how to plaster from watching your videos to a level that is pretty much professional so buy your self a drink your worth every penny
ОтветитьIm impressed🫶✌️
ОтветитьHi kirk.great tips. It won't save as much time as you say though. Only time saved is applying the plaster. It takes the same time to mix, finish and clean up. As you can see my Missus says I'm an argumentative twat 😂😂😂. Keep up the great work 👍
ОтветитьBrilliant advise 👏 really interesting can't wait to try it now 👍🏻
ОтветитьVery good tips... Good one for you all.. Mark the back of your trowel with a marker pen then you can see your overlapping ..when you get more used to it..
Ответитьthey call him the G P O A T
ОтветитьI have seen guys with 18 or 20 inch trowels....and using a 14 inch boards / hawks...the max plaster on the trowel is the size of the hawk..and your wrist is paying the price...reduce the trowel size guys,,,and overlap like Kirk.
ОтветитьHave started using a plaziflex(plastic) trowel for my final trowel, gives a brilliant finish.
ОтветитьBest way to speed up on a ceiling please reply
ОтветитьI’m a plumber by trade but do multi trade, I spent hours wearing in a trowel with a sharpening block for chisels. Was great till a corner got bent on the van when I shoved a sheet of 18mm ply on top 😭
ОтветитьThat 3rd stroke when laying on is actually flattening the plaster giving an advantage later on
ОтветитьCorner trowel is 10x quicker👌
ОтветитьGreat vid Kirk. I can’t imagine even trying to do 100 metres a day, that’s insane. Is that two coats and 3 trowels still? Domestic wise I’m normally prep in the morning and a hit in the afternoon. Second day when set up it’s back to two mixes. I’d say I average 30 meters a day on domestics
ОтветитьStarted plastering years ago with a stailess steel tyzack..loved it
One for floating and a well worn one for skimming
The edge was like a razor blade slice off the scrim when scrimming up
Fliat and skim the old days
Morning Kirk does the SBR work better if you leave it 24 hours to dry or can I just use it the same as PVA thanks. Keep up the good work great videos.
Ответитьthe secrets in the mix, they start at the bottom so it don't end up on the floor, these are not beginner's strokes, you are good, but you've been at it years.
ОтветитьGreat video dude. Laid out the layers quite well , what yer looking for before each new trowelling begins, and why the paint roller slips. Gold dust information and takes the mystery out of the processes and steps. Cheers
ОтветитьFairy liquid never gets a mention?I'm sure your father used it!?smells better than SBR!BLESS HIM
ОтветитьHi mate hope your well just a quick question as I've watched a few of your vids .I decided to use sbr as you rate it . Anyway I had a tiny lump in the plaster so as usual tried to remove which then ended peeling most of the wall off .nightmare the sbr basically just peeled off
ОтветитьSubscribed 🤩
ОтветитьYou're not paid to prime. Push a ever so slightly damper mix.
ОтветитьTop spread reminds me of my top mate which taught me some 30 years ago
ОтветитьI’d love you to teach me,I’ve just started out self employed
ОтветитьHow long should you wait between coats before “flattening in”?
Ответить
