OMG the beginning lol 😅
ОтветитьWUSSSS!! Just yankin; ya bro!! Yeah that whole Blair witch stuff gets kinda strange when you are alone like that!! Woulda been nice to have Erin along huh?? LOL
ОтветитьQuiet trying to put on a concert here 😂 this video made me laugh alot. Thank you!
I fight chronic pain everyday. Your videos get me thru so much ❤ thank yall
You’ll never die of hunger in those lakes
It’s teeming with fish!
I dont know how you got off that river. I dont think i would have ever left those awesome fishing holes. Well maybe when i ran out of tackle lol. The moose was awesome to. I love seeing calfs with thier mothers in the early spring when they are small and all legs and then seeing them in the fall and how much they grow in 5 or 6 months. Always amazes me how a cow moose can keep thier calves safe from the wolves.
ОтветитьIf I was picking a team you would be first pick. Thanks, Jon, for a very fun video.
ОтветитьSuch an awesome canoe/camping adventure, myself i'll bring extra markers so the the next person can find a trail, also they may have tools to clear some trees etc. to help others in the future, it helps, even if it's too much to clear brush, great trip dude :)
ОтветитьI love deciduous pine trees. As well at the Tamarack, bald cypress are also deciduous, but i not sure if they are naturally occurring in your area. Dawn redwood (Metasequoia) is as well, but that's a recently discovered species. (last 100 years+)
ОтветитьThis is definitely one of my favorites in your long list of amazing videos. Thanks for doing the extra work of narration and videography. So counterculture to nurture the solitude each of us so desperately needs. Thank you again.
ОтветитьOntario geography is so funny. "The far north" = barely north of the US border!
ОтветитьBeautiful but fishing should show you the fish so you can enjoy it also disappointing
ОтветитьAnother beautiful piece! Nice to see the walleye-to-walleye action. I've always had mixed feelings about Fall. It's pretty and it smells nice, but it also has this ominous (though not quite "Blair Witch") vibe to it. Oh, I just remembered that you're getting married soon. Umm, never mind. 😂 😂
ОтветитьHere in South America, after gutting the fish, we cook the whole fish with the head and tail on. We eat it all!
Ответитьglad i discovered your channel . instructive too !!!!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing another one or your amazing journeys. Stunning.
ОтветитьYour pros during this episode are top notch! Your line, "canoeing is apart of me, wound around and within me like twine holding my fleshy seams together" hit me deep. Epic video as always!
ОтветитьHappy birthday 🎉 kitchen day,
ОтветитьHi kitchen
ОтветитьThat cut takes a lot of energy out of you. I worked a lot in the kitchen and I noticed every time I would cut or burn myself I would get exhausted much faster during the days. I mean it makes sense that healing a wound takes more out of you than just keeping it running.
ОтветитьAny thoughts on doing this trip in reverse? I’m going to do this trip in a couple of weeks and I am bringing a whitewater boat (esquif pocket canyon). From your video it seemed that the current in then Ogoki was stronger than the Kap!
ОтветитьHow big is your canoe?
ОтветитьAren't you the least light bit concerned that you are contributing to the dilliquency of the vampiristic mosquitoes when you put the Scotch into your bloodstream and the mosquitoes suck the blood? It's no wonder they can't fly in a straight line. Hahaha 😊
ОтветитьWinter is something I accept, but not welcome. I can relate to your frustration. Excellent adventure!
ОтветитьBeauty trip! And good call on not going in that second cabin I had a serious some one died and is probably still in there vibe 😂😅
ОтветитьI've watched more of your more recent videos and thought I'd catch an earlier one. Enjoyed it, but have noticed your photographic skills have improved a lot over the years. Also wondering if you update the notes to the maps so other people coming after you have more information regarding campsites, portages, rapids, etc. Also do you and others sometimes get together to clear trails? Thanks!
ОтветитьExceptional beauty you skilfully capture! Your way of seeing nature and the editing with fine music choices and natural sounds make your video harmoniously fulfilling! So a very big and warm thank you to you, dear, John, and stay blessed together with your beloved Erin and also your loved ones and family!
Best regards from Sweden!💯💝👍👌
My wife usually only half pays attention while reading a book, but she happened to be watching when you made the clap joke and she cracked up! 😂 another great video from Papa Jontario with a glass of scotch in hand. Cheers!
ОтветитьLearn how to read the river and stay away from haystacks, follow the V in the river. Wish I was there to teach you these valuable skills. Thank You for such beautiful videos!
ОтветитьJohn, love your adventures. I’ve been following you for the past few months. Keep up the great work! Quick question, where did you get your hat? Appreciate it! Hope that knee is healing fast…
ОтветитьIve been binge watching all of your videos. Even if i just listen with my earbuds in while at work.
ОтветитьI see you have no weapons for safety from the wildlife is it not needed
ОтветитьThose narrow creeks - perfect for taking your canoe for a walk!
ОтветитьWatching from Belgium . I wish once in my life been able to come in Canada. Nature there has something different and it's gorgeous. Greetings
Ответить“Just kidding I’ve got batter” lmfao
ОтветитьCanoe camping and exploring is about as good an experience as one could have. My water experiences are large NH and Maine lakes. Solo.
Ответитьsurprisingly good singing voice
ОтветитьLoved all the wildlife 🙌
ОтветитьHey Jon! Hope your knee is getting better!
How do you paddle solo so well? You make it look easy. I took my new canoe out today and I felt like I had no control over the thing. I’m a heavy guy maybe that’s it. It wasn’t windy but the slightest breeze blow me around. I figure I must be doing something wrong
"Amy falls" typical pain in the butt(just like most women)! Beautiful but still difficult!
Lol...jk
Good for you for taking that experience.
ОтветитьAbout ten years ago my wife and i were on a day hike off hwy 60 in Algonquin Park. We were about a km in and she was leading the way when we heard this deep vibration that seemed to shake the ground. She immediately burst into tears and ran past me back fown the trail leaving me wondering what was going on. Needless to say no more hiking that day. 6 months later, I'm watching a nature documentary and heard the noise again, it was a ruffed grouse trying to attract a female, i was not impressed lol
ОтветитьWhere is he? Like what part of Canada 😊
ОтветитьAmazing trip. Thanks for sharing it.
ОтветитьI just wanted to say thanks brother
ОтветитьNice.
ОтветитьThe Ogoki is a favourite route for sure! I was disappointed you didn’t include footage of the dramatic and spectacular scenery between Amy Falls and the Ottertail…
