i have only played/tried playing dst on a server about 7 times and the 3rd time i got kicked on a server when the loading screen before creating a character was around for 5 seconds, it was also my first kick. it was really weird.

description:
SCP-996 bears resemblance to a steam copy of the video game "don't starve together".
it was discovered by an internet influencer who goes by the name "orangE" while filming a video on the normal game . the enity looks similar to the character "Wilson P." from the game.

properties:
although seeming like the "average kick on sight player" it has many oddities compared to them.
it's first and least noticeable property is the infection of other copies which in turn allows it to spread from copy to copy similar to that of a real-world virus. It also has the more obvious property of constructing crair filled with chest and being dimly lit , the chests contain mostly grass but will rarely have other items such as monster meat or flowers. Due to it's unknown affects at the time the SCP was left alone and thought to be a odd player of the game . However now two years and five days from it's first publication it has been revealed what it is planning on doing.

Threats:
it has been classed as a apollyon SCP as it plans to hijack other games via steam and if those games are able to be bought on other platforms such as the "epic store" it can then infect games on those platform; although unknown what it wants to do with these infected video games , it is to be believed that it may use them as a way to cause end of the world type scenarios leading to a major threat to mankind

CONTAINMENT:
although existing for so long now we had not thought of containing it and now knowing it's true intents we realised it is too late to attempt containment due to the mass spreading thanks to the influencer who had discovered it spreading it quickly to around 30 other copies of the game in that one day.

CONCLUSION:
we can only wait and hope that is may have a change of mind and not want to end humanity.

I get irrationally worried when someone joins a world of mine because I'm afraid they'll ask me for directions. I can barely survive on my own, I don't wanna accidentally sabotage another player.
Also because I feel bad since many players are friendly and chatty while I'm more of a hermit
