Some of the companies making these padlocks, really hate when you show the vulnerabilities. If they were serious about security, they would love to find all the exploits and try to fix it, like any reputable IT company does with systems and software.
ОтветитьIf You forget the combo, and use this key, will it show the current combination so the next time I don’t have to use the key?
Eg. If I set the lock to 000 and use the master key to open it, will it show a different and or correct number ?
Good to know! The reason I am getting non TSA locks is to keep the agents at the TSA gate out of my carry on bags. I have heard and seen stories of them rummaging through check bags. The zip tie idea is even better!
ОтветитьIt bothers me too when people use small locks to secure something
ОтветитьI keep having to purchase new TSA lock before traveling at border personel keep forgetting to relock my luggage
ОтветитьThe TSA unlocked my luggage and did laundry on my clothes
ОтветитьThe purpose of a travel lock isn't security. It's to keep the luggage from falling opening and spreading your underwear across the tarmac.
ОтветитьIt's useless then
Ответитьgonna get me one of those keys so whenever l see one of those locks l will unlock it and put the lock inside whatever it was securing
Ответитьnothing is safe, all you can do is delay what somebody's running to take
ОтветитьHeads explode at Master with every new LPL video. LOL
Ответитьlmao at the first lock, took less than 5 seconds.
I know this guy is a SCP, but i could probably pick that lock, and I have no patience.
Not good to keep your gym shorts safe.... but great for locking up your guns.🤔🙄🤠
ОтветитьDeviant Ollam has a lot on TSA locks and stuff
ОтветитьShows how to open the zipper with a pen and then still close by dragging the zipper with a padlock
ОтветитьI'm actually having trouble using sparrows ultra decoder on the the gray master lock😅 not sure what I'm doing wrong, yeah it real is easy to pick. Any suggestions I can't seem to feel the gate while. (It's strange though i've had better luck decoding a briefcases I practice on also)
ОтветитьMan didn't even have to rake it it just opened for him 😂
ОтветитьAnd frankly, even for the intended use I would only trust the key-retaining ones.
ОтветитьThank you @lockpickinglawyer I had forgotten the passcode to my TSA lock and remembered this video. I found the flat spots and cycled through til it unlocked!
ОтветитьWhat brand had the key retention mech
ОтветитьI wonder if the TSA doesn't open luggage without locks? I've never locked my luggage. Who cares? All it is is clothes and toiletries. If I travel domestically, there's nothing I can't replace at the destination city.
ОтветитьI have a sparrow set and I can't fit the tension wrench and the pick into it
ОтветитьI was resting the combination and slipped, so now i have no idea what it is. Please, how do i pick this!?!
ОтветитьThe idea of mass producing locks with an easily accessible master key, then REQUIRING said locks for certain items through TSA is completely absurd even in principle. TSA might be the most useless government agency. And that's saying something.
Ответить“Master Lock cries out…”
Lol’d
Could you possibly do an instructional video on finding the combination on a TSA lock? I have a suitcase with a TSA lock built in, but I haven't needed to use it in a few years, so I couldn't remember the combination when I was trying to get in. I tried the brute force method, but despite going through every possible combination, I couldn't get it open. I ultimately picked it open, and I was hoping that getting inside might be enough for me to simply reset the combination, but I discovered that resetting TSA lock requires knowing the current combination, and for the life of me, I cannot find anything to get a grip on with the probing tool.
ОтветитьWhat’s the best lock you recommend for luggage?
ОтветитьThe only issue is when TSA opens your luggage and they fail to lock the lock, you’ll have a lock that doesn’t lock - need to go back to TSA to re-lock it and that’s almost an act of congress 😝
ОтветитьI have one of these locks on my back pack. It does the job as a deterrent but I am able to decode it with ease and I also found that just jamming a paper clip in it worked to open it very quickly. It is secure enough for my use case as all the people who've tried to open it have no clue how to do it so it can stop people from stealing pencils and stuff.
ОтветитьNot like a proper lock would do anything for a suitcase, getting past the zipper is easy
ОтветитьI realize this is quite an old video. However, does anybody have any recommendations for travel locks that would be decent to use in a hostel?
ОтветитьGreat Video!
ОтветитьImagine all the high school lockers that have the bypass feature. You can buy ANY and ALL keys cut to code. I know our high school had just one key code, and that one key could open ANY school or gym locker at that particular school.
ОтветитьMaster Lock cries out for the picking treatment LOL LPL can even hear padlocks speaking to him when he is alone 😬
ОтветитьAhh... can you recommend a lock to use then? Please?! 😢
ОтветитьSo, even a master is good enough for this use case as long as it has the diamond?
ОтветитьI use a tsa lock in a few places, but with a twist. There’s a style called “open alert indicator” (google it) that has a little red pop up button that will pop up anytime the lock is opened with the master key and not the combo. Of course, the combo lock itself is also a joke and given a minute or two it can be cracked too, but I think it’s far better than a standard tsa lock and doesn’t cost much (well under $10). At the end of the day, I assume all my locks are only there to keep honest people honest and slow down the dishonest a wee bit.
Love your show!
I used the correct approved lock and they just cut it and stuffed the trashed lock in my bag! I never put anything in the checked bag that I would be upset about losing...I don't like strangers touching my stuff, but if they need a pair of chonies so bad as to steal them I say go ahead 😆
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьIt would be far more useful to use a numbered zip tie.
ОтветитьSo I get this, but what would you recommend for our gym lockers?
ОтветитьG’day.
Is there any locks that you cannot open?
Your knowledge, skills and intelligence are very impressive.
Love every of your videos. Thank you.
Someone needs to weld a bolt and nut then send it through. Lmao
ОтветитьI guessed the code on my tsa lock. It took under a minute.
ОтветитьWhat kind of lock would recommend for someone travel with an instrument in an SKB case? The SKB case itself has locks, but there are padlock holes for addition TSA locks. I’ve been looking to invest in a good lock but wanna make sure my instrument is fully protected.
Ответитьfun fact
i broke into my friend's luggage with just TWO NEEDLE PINS
and that luggage has that red diamond logo
When I was learning to pick locks, I picked up a 3 pack on my way to work one day just for practice (wanted to use paper clips). I made a torsion wrench, made a rake, inserted the torsion wrench, and the lock popped open before I even inserted the rake. TSA Locks are just fancy fasteners ;)
Ответить@lockpickinglawyer concerning TSA locks, why is the vast majority of locks 007 type? Seems like a Lord of the Rings issue; one key to rule them all. Why not have more variety to keep the thieves guessing? I fly with TSA006 for that very reason. Granted, no lock is impenetrable, but the more time it takes to open, the more secure the item is.
ОтветитьLocks, keep honest people honest
ОтветитьI had a tsa lock and I was just using bobby pins and unlocked it easily in like 15 to 20 seconds without any prior knowledge of lockpicking except for like skyrim lmao 💀
