You have more skills than I do in bushwhacking. I'll be 70 on my next birthday and once I reached 50 I quit taking on those steep slippery off trail adventures. Kudos to you for trying and surviving
Ответитьsure sure.... you are also from around 1995... +-20 years ;-) If you are trying to sell something, don't start out by saying how hard it is to find parts for it, and that you don't trust it to work.
ОтветитьAs usual I enjoyed your video. Food for thought. It would be a great gift if you sold that electronic photo frame with some of your images pre installed. I’d buy it. ✌️
ОтветитьOoooo B+Ws You made my morning.
ОтветитьI love the first 'local' landscape 😍
ОтветитьI still do those crazy descents and climbs and I'm 71. Started shooting waterfalls at 60fps and then slowing down the footage to 3/4 speed, I like it better than 24fps. I do long exposure stills handheld. Got some pictures of massive beautiful mushrooms. They are always fun to film. Thought about climbing ropes, but that's too intense for me. I explore solo. Crampons are required sometimes and hiking poles are always used wherever I go.. 🙂
ОтветитьLoved the 'local' shots! Black and white was a nice way to finish those photos as they really felt calm and intimate without color. The book looks really great, very much looking forward to getting ours when next we are in Canada. Cheers!
Ответитьmissing Gavin in your videos, he give a sparkle to your stories and adventures ✨
ОтветитьFilming stuff like this is always a challenge, because it never looks as sketchy on camera as it does in real life. I find you need to do a Dutch angle so it looks like you’re climbing down an inverted cliff, lol way more impressed with your shaky knees then, lol
ОтветитьHave had enormous pleasure from watching your videos over the years. Thanks for a great channel and good luck with the new vehicle
ОтветитьThe things you endure for the art! And it makes great videos too 😅
ОтветитьInteresting, you and Gavin having transportation angst at a very similar time! I'm certainly glad nobody is documenting my hiking skills, great sense of humor you have sir! Good luck with the new wheels. Nice pseudo landscape!
ОтветитьYou look exactly how I feel doing that stuff. Im usually on my own, so will back off sooner, carry an emergency beacon just in case, and mindful that under those conditions reception can be questionable.
I debated Delica vs truck camper years ago and ended up with the truck for many of the reasons you are experiencing. I'll be curious to see what direction you end up going with your tacoma build.
As alway, excellent images!
Not sure about the type of vehicle that you got Adam, van would have been a better choice, we’ll see what you make out of it.
ОтветитьHillary and Tensing have nothing on you two.
ОтветитьYou guys were pretty close to the way down. It’s a maze in there.
ОтветитьMy copy of "Land and Light" arrived two days ago and it's a very CLASSIEST thing I've ever had on my coffee table! Really high quality printing as well. I'll be rationing a few pages a day to make it last as long as possible!
ОтветитьSubscribe people! Adam's going Overlanding!! 🤗
ОтветитьReceived my book the other day, it's lovely!
ОтветитьSo, the logging roads became the vlogging roads for a while. A nice change of purpose. And what a beautiful woodland, even though the photography must have been incredibly challenging.
Ответитьwho was it you said did the book for you? Jerry at...?
ОтветитьYour pano of the rock formation is wonderful, Adam
ОтветитьI am 71 and now I always carry my Garmin InReach mini paired with my phone. If I need help it reaches out anywhere in the world. After a serious fall that could have been fatal, I bought this unit. I slipped and my foot became stuck between boulders. It took over an hour to free myself. Had I not freed my leg I might still be there. Unlikely anyone would be by there for months.
ОтветитьAlways enjoy Adam. Good luck on the new Truck.
ОтветитьHaha, The Descent was a good laugh. This video reminded me I still have one of those digital photo frames lying around the place too. Though, it sounds like they've come a long way since that one...
ОтветитьWonderful video, even if it didn't go your way for the waterfall excursion! Sometimes the cool images are in our own backyard!
ОтветитьLovely book. Who printed your book for you?
ОтветитьCool rock pattern.
ОтветитьAhh you took the tough way Colin and I would have shown you the way down 😂👍
ОтветитьThat first pattern shot looked a little like a waterfall hitting a rocky base.
ОтветитьI do love moss, but that would have been too much even for me! Glad you didn't fall!!
ОтветитьTrying to sell your unreliable van which you’ve just trashed by including a screen - priceless! 😂😂😂
ОтветитьGreat compositions. Very dodgy attempts getting to those falls but right decision! Paul better have good travel insurance whenever he comes to the island. Last time it cost me over $1000 to sit around Comox ER for a couple of bites for a bad reaction to an insect bite up in Paradise Meadows.
ОтветитьLooks like right kind of vehicle for photographer, is equally important alike a tripod or some of the favourite lens. Even recently we have seen number of Vloggers talking about their cars. I would love to know what plans you have with your Takoma, especially that I have for some time, same car plus canopy. Maybe it could be a good idea to talk about different options and different possibilities. It is worth to mention that whoever was recently visiting Iceland probably have seen many different sizes of campers from really small like Nissan NV200 (we don't have in North America)to quite huge.
ОтветитьClimbing rope does not weigh that much...
ОтветитьPaul was on a roll busting your chops as you came down the embankment. Your reaction was priceless. Beware those Instagram recommendations. Looks like that person was sending you into a death trap 😂
ОтветитьOh I really liked that first photo of the landscape looking rock formations. That was really beautiful. I just watched Dani Connor climb up a crazy cliff to photograph puffins in Iceland and I thought she was nuts ... then I watched this video and I think you might be more nuts than she is! 😁It might not have been so bad if you had proper hiking boots on but the wellies just looked super sketchy!
ОтветитьI once got stuck down a slippery slope after climbing down to photograph a waterfall alone ... After panicking l had a brainwave and used my tripod to pull myself out fortunately it had a handle on the head which l used to hook around a small sapling and haul myself out 🥵 lesson learned it might be easy to get down ... But can you get out again
ОтветитьAnother good tip I once learned - the maximum steepness of a slope you can go UP will generally be slightly steeper than the maximum steepness of a slope you can go DOWN. So before going up any slope ensure you'd be able and happy to come back down the same way if you have to!
Ответитьthe screen you shared looks great - just so perfect to have a rotation of family photos from trips . thank you for the recommendation
ОтветитьHi Adam, you two guys were lucky not to have an accident getting down to the waterfall. I, unfortunately, slipped and fell doing same a week ago and broke my wrist. Did manage to get a nice shot but paid a price.
Ответить👍👍
