Adobe has great software support. A lot of people shit on adobe for being buggy but if you contact them with a problem they will fix it for ya. That’s just my experience though with them. Photoshop 2019 was buggy for me yesterday so I’ve been using 2018 instead haha. Good video though keep up the good work!!

Another thing about resolve is that the free version using software encoding rather than take advantage of your CPU to encode something. Kinda weird but hey I get why they did that. I could be wrong though that’s just something I’ve heard.

I'm learning davinci resolve mainly because it has Linux support. Yeah sometimes i need to convert between formats but it just works. Smooth as butter!

I disagree with audition being the better software. You need to really explore fairlight it's amazing! And the plugins are serious especially for being free. Wow!

Yo dude you should do a video editing tutorial for Instagram profiles at it’s best quality using the Free daVinci Resolve.15 free version....I been trying to find the right editing sitting for Instagram profile videos.😊👊By the way this is my first video I saw of your channel.

As a long term photographer late to video - I will say that the color controls in Davinci are MUCH better and MUCH more intuitive than PP CC. Switched.

I make templates for Fusion :) My R7 1700 with 16 GB of ram and RX 580 8 GB is quite enough for what I'm doing. Davinci Resolve is using all 16 threads when rendering.

My Mac air can't handle all the Adobe stuff either. Tried the free trial but had to remove. Have to do a fresh install before i can look at installing Davinci. Use a website WeVideo which works great! Great video!! 😃😎

Seriously looking at DaVinci as a Premiere replacement. Hoping that they roll out some updates that maybe fix up some of the sync issues. I tried it a couple years ago and it totally bogged down. Super Skippy with footage and made it impossible to edit. Hoping that this install on a better laptop will work smoother. Seems like files need to be converted to ProRes to edit smoothly, at least from the 30 seconds 9f research I did. Liked your video, will definitely be back for more info.

Im currently agonizing over what editing software to use. I have a macbook pro and currently using Premiere CS6. I tried Final Cut Pro and its way faster on this machine. I've also tried Resolve, but not seriously. After watching your video i'm going to give Resolve another chance before I commit to CC. Thanks!!

This is what annoys me with channels with low subs, you must make better vids. Editing since 20 what? I can see that

Jay, there is NO computer to handle Adobe software. Absolutelly none. Once uppon a time (3 years ago) I had 3th best computer possible to assemble on planet. Still Adobe Premiere Pro and Lightroom and Audition never run great (not even smooth). If I tell people that Premiere (audition, AfterFx, Lightroom, Photoshop, ...) software are all 10+ years old and just updated (not rewritten), that it is obvious whay it works ever worse with each version. As much I loved Premiere 1, 1.5 and 2, I hated 3, accepted 4, skipped 5 and 5.5, exhaled at CS6 (still the best to date) and than started to downspin with CC until I give it up in 2018 for DavinciResolve.

Premiere can still eccept everything on the same timeline - but at penalty. To pull maxed out quality Premiere is anything but simple tons of problems and glacier speed when mixed formats, framerate and effects are used on same timeline. It was just not acceptable in 2018 that I returned to 2008 workflow which was transcoding everything to Cineform, than do plain editing, than make certain effects, than export everything, than do multicamera edits and than exporting that and grade in Davinci. Ughh. And machine consisting of all SSD's, boat load of 4-channel ram, top tier GPU, 6-core CPU, ... While Davinci enables me everything in ONE program that dynamic link always promised but never quite delivered.

I loved CoolEdit Pro, Adobe instantly thrown away all colors and colorfull icons, so dumbing down GUI, and than ruined performence after CS3, than progressivelly making GUI worse and worse. It is stupid to have visual cue AFTER mouse is hovered to some option instead of PRIOR to spot it easyer. Another issue is all buttons being flat and monochrome. Having a row of options some on some off, you never know what is on and what is off. Not isolated to Adobe, but all big names software houses that want to be FASIONABLE is this flat, monochrome look - a.k.a. clean look. Who the F*** wants that apart from noobs? Noobs think that is professional look and they are unfortunatelly in huge majority. In reality NO professional gear (let say video switcher on broadcasting TV station) is NOT consisting of endless white buttons, none audio mixer is consisting of all dark grey knobs on black board, but they all have as bright colours as possible to be easylay differetiated. So why software should be different? Good professional user oriented programs do exactly that. Davinci not perfect but miles better than Premiere ever was or will be.

I came here due to huge disappointment and discrimination from Adobe. Croatia is a part of EU for years now and we can't buy their software from their page, which is more expensive than DaVinci Resolve but for 53$ per month you don't get just Premiere Pro and After Effects but Illustrator and Photoshop which are always useful, but instead a special authorized retailer which sells their All included without Adobe Stock for just above 6000 HRK plus VAT which is 25% so customers from Croatia buy their software for 1240$ ... that is double the amount for rest of the EU costumers.

Your review is much appreciated. Hvala :)

Can someone please give me advice? I do mostly music videos and switching from FCPX to either DR16 or premiere pro and want to know which is better for music videos? I am mostly concerned about color correcting / grading options and editing multi cam clips quickly and in perfect sync to the beat of the song. I have an iMac pro 10 core with 16gigs of graphic ram as well as 64 gigs of cpu memory. I was looking at premiere pro and possibly getting film convert. Currently shoot on 1DXMARKII and EOSR for cameras but possibly looking to use Sony A7iii or Black Magic Pocket Cinema 4K which comes with the full version of resolve so that’s appealing as well. I want the easiest work flow using one app if possible unless it’s faster and better results to use separate apps. What do you recommend??

Great video! I want to draw attention to your intro...I love a good metal riff as much as the next guy, but a lot of intros I've heard have it cranked up so loud, I won't even watch the video! But you my friend have done a great job of sound design here!

I appreciate the information you shared in this video. I've just built a new editing machine and haven't decided whether I want to go back to using premiere or switching over to DaVinci resolve myself. I haven't edited in a long time and with all the good things I've heard about DaVinci resolve (you can't beat the price) I want to give it a shot.

I look forward to watching your tutorials on DaVinci and you're right about the white space. I hope that I'll get up to speed in order to do some tutorials myself. Good luck!

Enjoyed the video! I agree the color processing is much more intuitive on Resolve. Also it is much faster to render. I think the audio did what I wanted it to do. I did run into issues of clips moving around in Resolve unexpectedly but that might have been my lack of experience with it. One other thing is Resolve runs on linux which I haven't tried yet but I like that option as a linux fan. I saw another video there they mentioned that they created a workflow where a linux box handled the rendering. Finally there is the price...the adobe suite is expensive but I do like the integration of all their tools. Thanks again for a fun informative video
